There's a new answer to your Jeep 2008 Patriot question! Author image Bogdan Odwazny wrote: The code is po420? This was your reply to my first question some time ago. The answer is YES the c

The first time I took it in to the shop, they scanned the code and said it had to do with the catalytic converter but they were unspecific about what could be wrong. Once they cleared the code and the 'check engine' light did not come back on, they did nothing further and told me to bring it back if the light came on again. Within a couple of days it came back on but it had gone out but the time I took it back in. They didn't charge me for scanning it again (code po420) but once the code was cleared they did not take any further action.

The po 420 is a sign of a bad cat , but how to make sure it to take the o2 sensor out that in just before the cat and see how it runs then will be loud and will not hurt anything just be carful and see if your car runs any differant sometimes just the 02 sensor goes bad , so if your car runs better with it out then your cat is going bad and you will not notice it at first , but as it clogs ,which the parts inside start to melt and break apart and starts to clog nothing to worry about it will just stop running but you will notice that way before it go bad ,

Gas cap light came in jeep patriot 2008

Start by rebooting the as explained regkyl.
If issue returns then get a new gascap and reboot again. The seal on your cap is maybe worn out.
If issue still return then you'll have no choice to go and have the sensor checked and hope the problem is not with the cluster...

Should say in your manual. If not most can be reset by standing within 2-4 feet from engine compartment and depressing two buttons on remote. Should hear an audible beep or doors should lock. Hope this helps!

Replacing car stereo in a 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is pretty easy if you have a few tools and know how to use them.

1-You need to pry off the trim bezel. There are just snaps holding it on, but be careful you do not pull too hard or scratch it. Use a plastic stick or small srewdriver covered with tape.

2-There will be 4 bolts at each corner of the radio to remove.

3-Pull out the radio and and remove all the connectors and the AM/FM antenna plug.

4-Reconnect your new radio and repeat steps 2 and 1.

I did this same upgrade on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked without the need for a theft code.
