It is the one marked cig in the fuse panel under the left side of dash. On the inside row. Almost the middle. It's a 15 amp fuse. The one under the hood in that fuse block goes to the power supply plug. It's the thing that looks like a lighter plug that is for plugging in cell phone chargers. And cell phone chargers go bad and blow cigar lighter fuses.

This one's the fusebox in the interior of the car; usually below the steering wheel in a panel with a thumbscrew that you just give a quarter-turn, then catch it as it opens; inside are some fuses, which tend to be obvious when they are blown. There's a little legend that tends to be well-lit too, indicating which fuses were for the ligher/'auxillary 12v power' socket. Don't let a failed lighter bust on you; a flaming car is much more expensive than tossing/replacing the bad part or plugging something else in.

The fuse might be built into the cable to the lighter. It's called "fusable link", this type of fuse looks like a cable. Or another type of fusable link might be in the fuse box under the hood near the firewall.

Cigarette Lighter fuse is located in the instrument panel junction block assembly, in the front of passenger seat under the dash below the glove box. It is 15 Amp fuse in the location number 14, with the name CIG. Please look at the diagram.

On most Toyotas of this vintage hidden behind the accessory socket is a fuse. If the fuse is OK in the under dash panel, remove the accessory socket(s) and check the source wire there. If there is power, the hidden fuse is open. This is indictive of a bad /intermittent charger or plug in device. The hidden fuse is rated for 10 amps, it is replaced with the socket. Try a dealer or a salvage yard.

Under the dash, under steering wheel to the left. Also check the fuse box under the hood over the drivers side wheel well.

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Corolla Radio fuse

Pg. 250 of your 2005 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.
This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.
Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.

Check these two fuses. Fuse number 31 in fuse box location 4, if cigarette lighter, radio and clock. Else fuse number 5 in fuse box location 2, if only radio and clock and not cigarette lighter.

How can I change the cigarette lighter fuse in Toyota Avalon 2005?

Changing the fuse in the fuse box wont solve your problem On the back of the socket that is mounted in the dash that the lighter pushes into has a inline fuse that if over heated will blow. You will have to change the lighter. Toyota wanted close to $70 for a replacement lighter for my Tacoma. I never used the cigarette lighter for cigarett but needed to charge my cell phone so I replaced it with a dash Mount 12 Volt Power Socket for $10. Good luck.
