Write the codes down. Then erase them. read the codes that come right back, before you start the car. If the U codes come back, these have to be addressed before anything else. Communication codes. If not, Drive the car for about fifteen minutes and read the codes again. These codes have to addressed first. One code left on over time can cause other codes.
I had both p1610 and p1612 codes pop up today on me when my car decided to just die. i did a lot of trouble shooting and it led me to removing the negative battery terminal which resets the system and bam, car started right up.
P1610=Lock Mode--1 turn ignition switch OFF 2 turn ignition switch ON with registered key. (Do not start engine.) Wait 5 seconds. 3 Return the key to off position. 4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice ( total of tree cycles). 5 Start the engine. Does engine start ?? Yes...System is OK. Now system is escaped from LOCK MODE...if no start...Go to 3
P1612 is a lot of testing.......get back to me....
