SOURCE: volkswagen jetta over heating

hi tammy
it could be an air lock stopping the water from circulating properly i seem to recall this problem on the older VW Derby and audi 50 (same engine) there is a small bleed screw at the highest point on the cooling system that allows you to bleed this air out youll find its location in the manual

another thing to try is put a flushing agent through the system incase there are any blockages in the radiator itself

hope this helps

Changed thermostat temperature sensor and fan modulator. Still overheating no heat

If it's the2.2 , it's easy, as long as you buy a water pump holder. The water pump is internally driven bdesperate chain . The holder ,and the 4 bolts that cover the pump are used to hold the chain out of the way so you can change it.I If you aren't comfortable with the possibility of dropping the water pump chain down into the front if the engine, pay a pro. It's easy, but the possibility of turning a 100.00 job into a 800.00 is there.

I would say that the rad is the problem once a battery or rad gives you a problem after 5 years got rid of it ..I have talked to a Saturn dealer years ago.and most saturns run warm. And they use organic stop leak from the factory.because of the (popcorn)cast block.

97 saturn is overheating i changed the temp sen and still over heat if i unplug it the fan comes on can i drive with it un pluged

You might have changed the wrong sensor. There are two. The cooling fan sensor will be closer to the radiator, either plugged into the radiator or the thermostat housing. One sensor is for the temp gauge and the other is for the cooling fan, good luck.

I have a heating problem with my saturn 1995 and i already change the heating sensor

Replace the thermostat which is located inside the lower radiator hose on the block side.

Get the Stant 195*F thermostat. As long as you replaced the engine coolant temp sensor than the t-stat is the next thing to replace. Also as a double check make sure your dial on the inside of the car is properly actuating the arm to move it to heat.

My saturn wont pass emissions test and we have changed the evap

Ok, first you need to check the car to see if it's actually not heating up, or the sender's just messed up. If the car is actually heating up, replace the temperature sender, and it will likely solve your emissions problem at the same time. The sensor does double-duty, and if it's not registering the car as being warm, it will not allow the car to read the input from the oxygen sensors(it doesn't allow it to go into "closed loop" mode). If it actually isn't warming up, then replace your thermostat; it's likely stuck open, causing it to cool too well, and not going into closed loop because of it.

No Heat 2001 Wrangler

you have a faulty thermostat in your jeep. the thermostat is on the engine where the top cooling hose attaches to the motor. it will look like a small valve type thing with a spring that holds the brass part against the steel. if you are replacing this yourself than you will want a 195 thermostat.

We can not get my car to start it is a 2001 sl2 saturn

There are only a few things left, check the radiator or send it to a radiator shop to see if it is clogged, if its fine then it should be the water pump. What is the condition of the antifreeze? If it has been neglected the passage ways in the motor and heads could be clogged.
