When you drive faster ,the engine spins the water pump faster, i.e. some heat. I believe you will need to replace your water pump. In this car it's an involved job. You may want to take it in to have a new pump installed. GOOD LUCK FRICEND.

I would say your water pump is getting ready to die. What happens is when your motor rotates faster so does the pump, giving you some heat. Get the pump replaced ASAP so you don't create any additional problems. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

2003 Ford Windstar heater acuator located?

Is the heater not working in the front of the van, but is working in the back? You might mean the 'blend door actuator'. It's not easy to get to. The correct way is to remove the dashboard. Search YouTube for 'Windstar blend door actuator' to get some ideas.

1 Answer I bypassed my heater core till I'm able to get a new one but something is still leakin inside the van on both sides in front. Any ideas what to do or look for?

If you by-pass heater core, there's is no more coolant going into the dash (heater core), could just be left over coolant in a/c-heater housing, when it was leaking. There's nothing else under the dash the used cooling to work, but heater core, and that's by-pass.

Lag in acceleration, jerking, and no heat from the heater.

Try having heater core flushed and replace the heater control valve. As for the hesitation, that could be the 02 sensor needs to be replaced, or something may be clogged in the fuel system. my van is a 3.0. Had to replace fuel pump. Also when you've had work done like that the mechanic needs to reset computer, once that done it takes a while for it to run properly again. Hope this helps.
