Intake air temp sensor should be located in or near the cold air intake box.

2005 ford taurus with a p0113 code saying high circuit

p0113 means you are getting a very high voltage reading from the IAT sensor to the ECU. Usually this is because the IAT has become faulty or bad. Replace and clear codes it should go away.

2000 Ford focus. Reading codes P0113, B1600, P0179. It has very little power while driving at times as well. But not always.

Have the IAT circuit checked for any bare wiring or wires touching/grounding out to each other as this could be an intermittent problem that may be corrupting the 5 volt reference signal . This would cause driveability issues .

My 2004 fi50 has code po113 i just change the vct sensors

i moved you to F150 (ok/?) 5.4liter or what?
now you can get Ford answers and not Toyota.side show.
did you reset all DTCs after the service? (always 1st step)

VCT (or VVT in generic form)
is tricky.
in fact id never assume the sensor is bad first. (id clean them an believe them)
p0113 is IAT sensor open. (if unplugged key on, bingo)
are you using a scan tool that can see all FORD codes???
id bet not but if are, then there are many VVT codes.

Trouble Code Conditions: verbatum FSM.
Key on or engine running; and the PCM detected the IAT sensor signal was more than the self-test maximum 4.60v (Scan Tool reads under -46F). This is a thermistor-type sensor with a variable resistance that changes when exposed to different temperatures.
Possible Causes:
  • IAT sensor signal circuit is open (inspect wiring & connector)
  • IAT sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF (5v)
  • IAT sensor is damaged or it has failed

my guess is doing service key on with IAT unplugged.

I have 0113 code and its stalling when i put in gaer

Hi Steve:
DTC P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. The PCM supplies a 5 volt reference voltage to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The IAT is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As the temperature increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

Potential Symptoms: There will likely be no symptoms other than illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL - Check Engine Light / Service Engine Soon).

Causes: A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Internally failed IAT sensor
Faulty connection at IAT sensor
Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Possible Solutions: First, if you have access to a scan tool, is there an IAT reading? If the IAT reading is logical then the problem is likely intermittent. If the reading is less than -30 degrees, unplug the connector. Install a jumper wire between the harness connector signal and ground circuits. The IAT temperature reading on the scan tool should be maxed out at the high end. For example it should be 280 degrees Farenheit or higher. If it is, the wiring is okay, and it may have been the connection. If it isn't install the jumper wire between the IAT signal circuit and the chassis ground.

If now the IAT reading on the scan tool is maxed out then check for an open in the IAT ground circuit. If you get no reading at all on the scan tool, it's likely that the sensor signal is open or the 5 volt reference is missing. Check using a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) for a 5 volt reference. If it's there, then unplug the connector at the PCM and check for continuity on the IAT signal circuit between the PCM connector and the IAT connector.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I need to locate IAT sensor four my 2009 ford

The IAT is integrated with the MAF sensor on the 09 Fusion. The MAF is located near the air box on all three engines. on the driver's side, and will be held to some part of the intake tubing by 2 torx screws. http://media.photobucket.com/image/2009%20Fusion%20MAF/itsamecameron/fusion4cylengineMAF.jpg 2.3L shown, 3.0 and 3.5 should be similar.
