SOURCE: Air conditioner won't stay on.

'64 could be right, but these Malibu's also have a tendency to go through HVAC head control units, among other things. I have taken the head unit out of mine and cleaned the contacts, etc...with some success. However, from what I've seen, this is just a temporary fix. These units run upwards of $200 at a dealer, but you can get one online for just over $100. It is a really easy install.

Other common problems include:
-Cruise control modules going bad (cruise kicks off at will)
-Bad resistor on fan blower (only speeds 3-5 will work)
-Front coil springs breaking
-Front brakes wear funny, excessive wear
-Moisture in headlight housings

SOURCE: How to reset Service 4wheel drive warning light on 2005 ChevTahoe

I have a 2005 Tahoe that recently had a similar problem. To resolve, I did the following.

  1. Change the transfer case fluid (Which you already did)
  2. Change Gears to 4L while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive slowly 50 yards or so.
  3. Change Gears to 4H while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive slowly 50 yards or so.
  4. Change Gears to 2H while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive normally for a couple of miles.
This will cycle the fluid within your transfer case, and hopefully clean out the sensor. I did this, and my Service 4WD light went away after one day of normal driving. Hope this helps. Note: When I went into 4L the first go around, it had a hard time shifting due to non use. I changed between 4H and 4L a few times until it got smoother.

Replaced battery cables on my 1998 Ford Expedition. Now when I turn the ignition the starter enguages then emediatly disenguages, like there is a load on it other than turning over the motor. Was star

You said you replaced the battery cables, how come? Problems getting car started? might be a bad starter, not cables... if battery is good, cables are new, may be starter solenoid malfunction... the solenoid tells the starter gear to engage the flywheel, then release the flywheel once the engine rotates fast enough (assuming you let go of the key once engine gets going :)... or you could even have a worn ignition switch or faulty wire behind the switch (not so likely)

Find the switch that is out of adjustment in your trunk and position it properly. You will know you have the proper switch when the light goes out.

My brake lites stay on all the time on my 2005 chev 1500 silverado, even if i take the brake light switch out. Is it the switch?

it may be the brake light switch. have you tryed making the connection manually? or is it the 'e' brake switch staying on? try pulling up on the emergency brake pedal to insure the "e" brake switch is'nt bad before you replace a suspected bad brake light switch on the steering column. if you suspect a bad brake light switch, pull up on the brake pedal and look to insure the brakelight swich disenguages itself,it may only need adjusted.the plunger may be loose. or the plugin may be loose. if not any of these, then i suggest you replace the brake light switch on the steering column,at bottom, near floorboard,on the steering column itself.

My 2003 SL 500 suddenly became difficult to shift from park to reverse. I am assuming it is a relay tied to pushing down the brake before shifting. anyone know anything about this?

first get in to the car close the doors and shutters switch off radio and a/c then witch on ignition, when you press the brake can you hear clicking sound in shift liver, release brake and do press it again and listen, if you can clearly hear click sound, it's mean brake light switch is OK. could be faulty safety release lock in shift liver control, is this information helped you?

Indicators and break lights do not work.

It could be the brake light switch. Check it for 12 volts. If its getting the volts it should be sending the volts to the lights when you press on the brake petal.

The truck is turned off and the brake lights are still on

it sounds like the break stop switch is stuck. if you look at the break pedal the bar that extends up from the petal when you push the break in it hits a switch this switch also is what allows the shift lock to disenguage toexercise the switch if it does not fix it it need to be replaced they are not to bad in price but you need to go to thr dealer to get one
