I have a 2001 Honda Odyssey that has an on going problem with it starting when it wants too. And then dies in the middle of me driving with know warning! It will turn over but that's it! I took it to several people and the car won't show anything wrong but right when I get it home it won't start for me. I had the fuel filter, the battery terminals and the crank sensor changed. Its started messing up again. I noticed the green key light will NOT come on if the car won't start but It come on when the car starts. I don't if that would be related or not.Can anyone help me please

Contact your local Honda Dealer, and give them the 17 digit VIN number (on the drivers door jamb, or left lower cormer of the windshield) Honda had a recall on all of the 1999-2004 Ignition switches. If it hasn't been performed, then the dealer will repair it at no charge. What you are describing is a faulty ignition switch. The contacts inside are worn out or burnt, which causes a complete loss of battery power and the engine will shut off. Your VIN number will begin with either 2HKRL (canada) or 5FNRL (alabama) More than likely yours is canada built.

Hi dear.
Honda have many problems with intermediate starting problems, but noting major.
I One is the electrical part on Ignition switch.Wile the car is running, tap on the key like if you have heavy wait on you key chain, and note if the dash light flick.Second when the car don't start note if the lights for brake, battery.abs, srs, service engine ..... stay ON.Just take a note what light or gauge work when is starting and what don't when is Not starting.
II Another problem is corrosion on the ground wire. follow the wire from the battery and clean and tight all connection to body and engine.
III Start the engine and run your finger on top of the fuses inside and engine compartment. lose fuse can get hot and disconnect temporary.
Good luck

SOURCE: 2001 Honda Civic Key Green light keep flashing in the dashboard

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

2001 Odessey with 75K miles and the transmission started slipping...what do I do?

You can try changing the fluid but the 99-03 Odyssey transmissions were notorious for failure and yours is likely about to die, meaning a rebuild or replacement. Take a look at www.odyclub.com - you'll find a wealth of information on this.

Hello i have a 2001 honda odyssey my engine dies after awhile i drive it so what i do to to get running back again is for me to take out the fuse fuel pump from the kick panel on the driver side and it...

My 2001 Honda Odyssey would completely lose power, foot on the gas pedal and nothing there. There were no warning lights prior to the losing power. After letting the car set for a few minutes it would start and run okay. This happened intermittently over a couple of weeks until finally it didn't want to start at all. When turning the key the car sounded like it wanted to start but wouldn't. After a quick trip to the closest Honda dealership and asking a few questions we were told that it sounded like the main relay needed to be replaced. They showed us where it was located on the Honda, we bought a new one and we easily installed it ourselves. The old relay did have a slight burned smell. My Honda is working fine now and it has been over a week with no problems. I hope this helps someone else.

2001 Honda Odyssey Transmission Problem

The Odyssey has notorious bad transmissions from 2000-2003. You will not get anything on a trade, the trans can be fixed for about $2k. If everything else on the van still works and you like it, figure you bought it again for $2k. I changen my wife's Odyssey trans at 175K miles for $2k and she is happy so therefore I am happy too :-)
