Check codes for the abs system. A code reader won't check them. you have to have a scanner.

SOURCE: 1998 gmc sierra brake lights

did u check that they not burn?if not you should Check the wires going into the steering column if you don't have separate turn signal lights and brake lights because if they use the same bulb then the turn signal may be bad. If I remember correctly that particular car doesn't work this way, but I include it just in case.

SOURCE: 99 GMC Sierra Pickup: Crank but no start. starts

The theft light issue is a good observation. Have you replaced the key tumbler or an ignition component lately? Has there been a lightning storm close very recently?

What the flashing security light is indicating is an attempt to relearn the key you are using.
Turn the key to run position, allow light to flash for 10 minutes, when light stops flashing turn ignition to OFF position for 5 seconds, turn ignition to run position and start over. Do this for 3 consecutive cycles, the the theft system will relearn the key cylinder code and store it once again.
Try that first before you go any further.
Let me know what you find.
Regards,

When dash lights don't work odds are the tail lights don't work either.Sounds like Dimmer switch may be a problem.

SOURCE: Excessive black exhaust on 2003 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel.

This is what i would try (cheapest first) redexe/wyyns
injector cleaner, double dose, then i have put 1gal gas in 10gal diesel to increase burn temp (you may encounter a hot start problem temporarilly)then if still smoking, get a compresion check on the engine(this will tell you volumes)
by the way the NATO tanks put in 1/3 gas in diesel to stop it freezing in arctic conditions.any more than 1/3 can result in problems.

2003 gmc envoy emergency brake light is on and there's a ding ding ding ding nouse. checked brake fluid. How do I stop the Noise or fix it

the noise is telling you the emergency brake is on (or it thinks it is) emergency brakes don't use any fluids as they are totally mechanical on your truck , id first try setting the brake and then releasing it again , if this still doesn't clear the light on then id have your mechanic look at it , might require an adjustment

id be cautious in driving it if theres any possibility that brake is dragging as this will severely overheat your brakes requiring you to replace them early

Key dinger

This is what just ran through my mind. You are tricked into thinking that the brakes lights didn't have a fuse, because they wasn't working. That fuse your replaced was for your chime, which is probably bad, so someone removed the fuse for it. The reason that your brakes lights dont' work could be 1 of 2 things. You do have a bad fuse, you just have to find it. If your brakes used to work, the fuse is not just going to fall out. Check all your fuses, but don't get them mixed up. The second most common this to cause this, is the small switch that sits behind your dash, up on the top of your brake pedal lever. You can see it from looking up from the floorboard area. Hope this helps!

Ran over tree limb abs &brake light symbol came on. when Vehicle is started the dinger dings for about 15 seconds. no visual signs of damaga.

If the abs and brake lights stay on check the abs sensor on the wheel, or side that you hit the branch on odds are that the plug in to the sensor came unplugged, or tore out a wire.

Front brakes stay locked up

You may want to replace your flexible feed lines to the calipers. Any little bit of **** in them will not let the brake fluid out of the caliper,

My 1999 buick lesabre has a dinging noise when a brake sensor

This means your master cylender is low on brake fluid , top it off with brake fluid and that should solve your problem . You should find out where the brak fluid is going .
