No year, make, or model. But some are located by the glove box. To the right of it though. Remove the kick panel on the passenger side and above the top of the kick panel is where the ECM will be. Some are mounted on plastic clips, Some go threw the fire wall and have to disconnected under the hood first.

Where is the computor located

Remove the glove box door. The PCM in a Grand Am is located behind the glove box. You do not need to remove the entire glove box, just the door. Remove the glove box by opening the door any emptying its contents. Squeeze together the outside part of the glove box that becomes visible while open. Squeezing it will release the clip from its fastener, and the glove box will slip right off.

Where is computer located in 1998 pontiac grand am

The PCM on any Pontiac Grand Am is located behind the glove box. You must remove the screws attaching the glove box to physically see the PCM. Use caution if you're going to remove the glove box door. good-day !

Where the computer box located and how do it look

The PCM in a Grand Am is located behind the glove box. You do not need to remove the entire glove box, just the door. Remove the glove box by opening the door any emptying its contents. Squeeze together the outside part of the glove box that becomes visible while open. Squeezing it will release the clip from its fastener, and the glove box will slip right off.

Unhook the connection module that runs from the PCM to the vehicle. Depress the outer clips and pull to release the connection module (It is a six or eight pin white connector).

Use the socket wrench or screwdriver (depending on the vehicle year) to remove the PCM from its mounting. There should be six bolts or screws. Keep the bolts or screws in a safe location because you will need them to install the new PCM.

Check in this site www.wait4meperformance.com (Technical Support tag) has PCM for about $150. If you do replace the PCM, you will need to take it somewhere to do a crank sensor relearn routine.

Hope this helps.

I am trying to locate the ECM in my 1997 Toyota 4runner.

Hello ironshepherd
The ECM is located behind the right side of the dash just above the glove box. If you remove the
glove box, it should be fairly easy to access. Hope this helps.

Hello fredrickwils: My name is Roger and I will help you. The PCM or ECM is located on the passenger side of the car. Drop the panel underneath the dash. Look up behind the glove box area. You will see two square boxes with a lot of wires going to them. Drop down the boxes remove the box with three rectangular plugs. This will be the ECM. See attached picture. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it helped. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger4435087.jpg

Where is the ECM located

On the 96 Se the computer should be located on the drivers side, behind the fuse panel. Remove the side interior panel, then loosen the bolts that hold the fuse panel so that you can get to the plastic box with a lot of wires hooked up to it. They are snap-fit connectors like the rest of them.
