Question about Renault Modus

I have a renault modus 2006, 76000 miles. Check injection system came up on dash , won't rev over 3000 rpm + is very hard to start. When turning over no smoke at all from exhaust. Ran diagnostic, said heater control module + diesel fuel regulator. Fitted new heater plugs + control module, fault sorted. Replaced the 2 valves on end of pump + the valve below the injector pipe distributor. Still throwing up p0089 fault code, stiill hard to start + still won't rev over 3000 !!! Hellllllp please.

    trying to take this problem a little further ! I have a notion the fuel regulator is getting the correct commands or signals ? does anyone know what values I should be getting at the brown multiplug, with a multi - meter. I now think the valve isnt getting correct signals. I despearate for this information so I can try it tomorow. thanks !

Put fuel cleaner good one,did you change fuel filter.

SOURCE: Ran out of Diesel, now 'injector fault' light on. '05 Modus

there is air in the fuel line causing the fuel not get to the injectors. you will have to open the fuel ine AT the injectors to bleed out the air while someone turns the key as if starting the car.

hi,seem all part have been check,to check further,you need to use a pressure gauge, to check the lower and upper chamber of your fuel distributor,only dealer have the tools,valve clearance is a hydraulic valve,no need to adjust,seem your car start,engine timing is ok,ty

Yes sir , you have a failing valve, soon it will snap in two....please have your head checked. You can do this yourself by placing a long-handed screwdriver , business end down to each cylinder while pressing your ear to the handle(while engine is running)...you will notice a definite difference when you hit which cylinder has the bad valve. Also makes sure the egr valve is clean and your exhaust recycle valve is not stuck.( located in the crossover pipe)

My renault 1.9dCi won't rev past 300 rpm, shows "Check injection" it has a lot of black smoke exiting exhaust, no power and sometimes my brakepedal is hard and poor braking


Well its been about 50 years since we (usa) imported any of those... but I Liked them...

Check your exhaust system...

If it is rested or deteriorated in any way... your car will be MOSTLY BLOCKED...

BLACK SMOKE is over fueled... so it's either that or stuck injectors...

A quick squirt of Berryman carb & choke Cleaner has always freed all my abandoned cars... injectors.

Try it...

I have a 1.6 auto petrol renault modus reg55.After I turn on the engine if I push a hard break the rev falling down and the engine stop.But only at the first few miles. Any idea for this problem? Thanks


reg codes only work in UK, use real years..... so ROTW can tell.
please, tell what it does good and bad driving, idling , parked, moviing
hot and cold engine, full power from engine on hills.
stalling (it stalls) but when does it stall, under what conditions. hot or cold engine. only at stop lights hot. or>????
when an engine is cold the RPM is very high (iAC device) and it will not stall cold , if it does that is key.
if it never stalls hot. and runs perfect hot say so.
all these, clues build evidence. to what is wrong.
then we do tests.
PS: ever think to get that 60,000 mile (100km) tuneup>> now be it.

Turbo won't work

probally be a good idea to have a local shop run a fuel system check to eliminate alot of wasted time or money. its well worth the time to have it properly checked by a trained mechanic. alot of engine problems the computer picks up wont be noticed at first and can lead to expensive repairs

IT IDLES HIGH AN WONT REV UP


Change all the filters (fuel and air). check and see if all your spark plugs are firing or just change them. if it is fuel injected make sure your injectors are working. Hope something there helps get it running good.
