Cruise control stops working when heater/defroster fan quits working

one possibility either the cruise control is on the same circuit line with the heater/defroster fan and same fuse. try to solve the problem with the fan and you will notice the difference.

Auto has 23K and cruse stopped working. checked

I had the same problem with my 2003 santa fe. Do you have any brake lights out in back? Weird as it is, as soon as I fixed a burned out brake bulb, my cruise worked again. The only relation I can think of is that tapping the breaks causes cruise to turn off - so maybe a broken brake/tail light passes a singal to cruise control from some reason???

Drive belt squeels, 96 Plymouth Breeze 2.4L

Could be your altenator is going out? you can spray soap on the belt to make the squeel stop but you ge the altenator check. Most auto parts stores can check it for you with out having to remove it.

Cruse control

Does your blower fan work on your heater/ac or your rear defrost work it could be the igniton switch were you put the key in. Turn the car on and off several times once you notice the cruise will not work and see if it starts to work if it does than it is the ignition switch this just happen to my 2003 century.
