Not getting wires hooked back up, Vacuum leaks. Breaking(vacuum leak) the intake plenum when installing it. There is a big vacuum line in the center near the bottom of the plenum. Is it connected?

Changing the intake gasket requires removal of distributor I believe. Did you get it back in the exact correct position?

How to remove/replace the Valve Cover Gaskets on a New Beetle car?

Replace the valve cover gasket if the valve cover gaskets are leaking or if they're worn. The procedure is as follows:--
1) First of all let the motor cool down if the car was recently driven. Then remove the air intake boot. The air intake boot ios attached to the engine's throttle body.
2) Carefully disconnect the throttle cable , hoses and electrical connectors located on the upper intake manifold.
3) Then disconnect the hard pipe that is connected to the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve.
4) The EGR valve is located beneath the upper intake manifold.
5) Then remove the bolts from both the upper intake manifold and the manifold support bracket.
6) Now the upper intake main fold and lower intake manifold both have got loose as you removed the nut.
7) After that remove the upper intake manifold from the lower intake manifold. Carefully place clean rags over the intake runners to prevent anything from falling into the intake system.
8) Then you will have to disconnect the crank case breather valve on the valve cover.
9) Then remove the bolts from the valve cover and remove the reinforcing straps.
10) Then remove the camshaft belt cover and the dust shield from the back of the camshaft sprocket.
11) Now carefully remove the valve cover. Properly clean the old gasket material with gasket remover.
12) You can install a new gasket in the reverse procedure of removal.

This will help. good luck.

Seems like air is seeping in but also leaking oil on the headers could this be cause of the gasket on the valve covers

Yes, a bad gasket would be the cause of the oil leaking out, but has nothing to do with any air getting in. There is no vacuum under the valve cover. Change the valve cover gasket and check the intake manifold and the vacuum hoses coming from it for vacuum leaks (air getting sucked in).

What causes Valve Cover Leaks

first how much sludge build up was there they are known for build up in the heads and under the intake if that is ok the next common place to leak and it goes down the side is the oring on the distributor also the ends of the intake then over that length of time i sure they have been done before the covers are most likely bent instead of using a gasket clean both sides with brake part cleaner hammer the cover as flat as you can and use the silver/gray rtv and allow it to sit over night before starting

I changed the oil and filter and started the car and the filter gasket started to come out, all the oil leaked out, I replaced it 3 times, the last filter I put on it blew the metal cover off the oil...

Hello! The oil pressure is extremely high...The most probably cause is a plugged Positive Crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve...Replace the PCV valve and the hose that connects it to the intake..It is located in the passenger side valve cover....See photo below...Guru..............Saailer

I have a 2002 cavaliry Z24. It has the 2.4 engine. It has a bad miss. The trouble code that was givrn was po302. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires. I was wondering if there is a way to test the...

P0302 is random misfire on cylinder #2.

Most comment cause is vacuum leak at the intake manifold and vacuum hose.

If you valve cover is leaking oil on then DO THE HOLD JOB.

Remove valve cover to gain access the intake manifold.

Change the intake gasket and valve cover gasket.

2001 dodge 2500 4x4 high oil consumption

These are know for having a leaking gasket on the bottom of the intake that will cause oil consumption. To test for this take the pcv valve out of the passenger side valve cover and the crankcase filter out of the driver side. With the engine running put your thumbs over the holes in both valve covers. It should build pressure. If you feel it pulling a vacuum, the gasket is leaking. You have to remove the intake and flip it over on a bench to change the pan gasket on the bottom.
