The first place to start would be with the new ignition switch. What you are saying sounds like a defective switch.

I have a 2006 new beetle, just put in a new battery about a week ago. It drove fine. My problem is, the car won't start when i turned the key. I tried many attempts, but just won't budge. Is

Hi there, with this kind of problem in general, you have to look on any source from where your battery is being drained. Check your new battery if it is drained again. If the voltage is below 12V means there is a close circuit that is using your battery while it is stopped. Recharge your battery and try starting your car or ask a friend to jump your car. If it wont start check your starter motor. Another factor to think of is maybe your alternator is not charging your battery.

Car does not die or attempt to turn over, just clicks when I turn the key. after several attempts, it will start. jump starting also works. i have replaced the battery but it did not help.

did you clean the terminals when you changed the battery? you have a bad connection someplace or your starter is dragging and needs more voltage to start

2006 G6 GT sedan, was parked a while and battery died. Replaced the battery and started engine no problem, ran for a half an hour. Next morning tried to start but wouldn't even turn over. Plenty of power...

YOU NEED AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN TO LOCATE THE BATTERY DRAIN & OR BAD CONNECTION . THE TRUNK LIGHT MAY BE STAYING ON WHEN THE TRUNK IS SHUT, ALSO THE ALTERNATOR CAN CHARGE THE BATTERY, WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, BUT IF A DIODE IS BAD IT CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF

My 2006 VW Beetle will not start after numerous attempts of turning the key over...there are no indicator lights coming on when I turn the key over...is my battery possibly dead?

Possibly. If it is making a faint click-click-click noise or not making any noise whatsoever, chances are its your battery.

Have the battery boosted, as per boosting instruction in your owners manual.

You may want to replace the battery anyways, as every time a battery is completely drained, cells in the battery die, and it will not hold a full charge.
