just press the button to reset it. Per your owner manual. Should only trip in an accident.
WHen you turn on the key, can you hear the fuel pump run for 5 seconds. The pump is in the fuel tank. listen there while someone turns the key on. report back.

SOURCE: 2000 nissan xterra won't start
is there spark and fuel pressure?.....disconnect one spark plug and put a spark tester to verify.,if there is spark, then remove the air intake hose from the throttle body and spray fuel into the throttle body,if the engine starts, then dies, you have a fuel delivery problem.if you have hit something, check the wiring to the fuel pump, which is in the fuel tank.if you have 200000km,chances are the fuel pump is no good.sometimes banging on the tank will get it to start up again.you can also disconnect the inlet to the fuel filter using what is called a line wrench .if fuel sprays out, there is pressure there.wear glasses, fuel is under quite a bit of pressure.

Yes there is. It should be in the trunk, but before you go crazy looking for it, listen for it to come on before you blame the switch. If you hear it come on when the key is turned, you have something else wrong, if you don't hear it, then you can go find it. Some are under the dash, I don't know your exact location, most are in the trunk. Check it out.

SOURCE: Car smells flooded and inertia
Try disconnecting your battery for 15 minutes and reconnect it to reset all your units. If it does not work, it may have electrical damage caused by water. You can also remove the harness (while battery is disconnected) of the inertia switch and leave it out in the sun for a day to evaperate any humidity. Reconnect it with the battery and give it a go. If it still pops out, the water damage is too extensive in the circuit board and will need to be replaced.
