SOURCE: i have an 89 ford f-150 cranks wont start got

Hi,
Since you're sure that you are getting gas and fire and timing is right... (also check firing order), has anything been done recently that could help you locate the problem? Such as removed distributor (could be 180 degrees out)? New plug wires (maybe crossed)?
All else I could recommend is checking cylinder compression (In case the valves are the problem)... The engine timing chain could need replacing...
Hope this helps... Good luck!

This is for a 1989 Ford F150 In-Line 6-Cylinder (4.9L) wrongly posted by the Asker under a 1986 Ford Mustang....

Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator. Look it up on line at any of the reputable auto parts websites to get an idea what it looks like.
There should be a Rubber Vacuum Line coming from this (the Regulator is located on the Fuel Line prior to the Fuel Injectors) to the Intake. Take this Line OFF. If there is gas in that line = The Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator diaphram is broken and the Fuel is being dumped into the Intake and NOT being advanced onto the Fuel Injectors; and the Regulator must be replaced.
Let me know if this helped.

The dash gauges all work , fuel pumps are both good , the fuel pumps wont come on and the truck trys to fire when i turn the ignition on but wont , could this be a fuel regulator

did you check the fuel pressure pump on the frame rail for power and ground? have you verified no ignition spark to the spark plugs? have you checked for fire from the coil to the distributor cap? does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? have you check for injector pulse and power at the fuel injectors? if the fuel pump won't come on and you have no ignition fire and no injector pulse, all of these systems are triggered by the ECM.

F150 won't start

So you turned the key just to "Run" and hear the fuel pump running (guessing elec pump)? Did you pull off a spark plug wire to check for spark? If no spark, pull the Distributor cap and check inside of cap, and rotor for damage, if ok, then the coil is bad, replace it. If you have spark at the plugs, have you tried Starting Fluid? (old school, go to AutoZone for this)

sounds like you have an electrical problem, get a diagnosis, and see if all your fuses and everything are all getting power, and if they are, then try replaceing the rotor on the distributor cap

89 f150 to fireing

Check and see if u have spark to the plugs, if you don't replace the TFI ignition module on the distributor and the pickup inside the distributor, the dist must be removed to do this coil pickup replacement.

89 f150 wont fire

i suspect a fuel pump malfunction. i would check there first. make sure the fuel **** fuse is good and well. check the lines for blockages. after you run the fuel pump/fuse/line test, go to the distributor/coil and test the spark value. i would also check wires as well. your problem should be in one of these specific areas.
