has the wiper switch been changed out? because in my 35 years of experience 90% of the time the wiper switch is defective and the cause of the problem, the symptoms u have reinforce my opinion this is the problem.

there is not a wiper relay on your Z3 the system uses a wiper module it is located behind the glove box. and is most likely the problem it is what controls the wiper motor speeds.

If the wiper control module has been replaced and the problem is still present, suspect a wiper switch. There are numerous resistors incorporated into this switch to control the different functions of wiper operation. If one or more resistors fail, the voltage to the wiper module will incorrect and cause problems

look in the owners manual under wipers there are several settings on wiper slow to fast on intermittent then slow and fast on regular wipe

Wipers work slow or fast only, not intermittently


Switch is bad . It's expensive and will be about 250.00with labor. From dealership. I would not recommend replacing it yet.

Check the circuit board on the wiper motor, big recall years ago. May be under warranty.

this is most often caused by a defective wiper control switch.Less common is the Body control module is defective.
