Question about Cars & Trucks

2 Answers

I have a 2005 Nissan sentra special edition but have been having 1 problem after another. Some say it could be the transmission. It has no power when accelerating and engine light is on. It has also been burning up fuel at a faster pace than it had. It has a new fuel filter spark plugs module even changed the rotors and the breaks but something is still wrong. Any ideas?

There are several things to check. Check the fuel pump pressure and flow . clean or replace the air filter. check the ignition timing and spark advance as the engine speed is increased . Check the throttle butterfly is fully open when the pedal is fully depressed . Check that the brakes are not binding by rocking the car back and forward it should be free to push.

SOURCE: 1996 Honda Accord Rough Idle Even After tune up

Perform a valve clearance inspection and adjust if necessary. Tight or sticking valves will cause a misfire or rough running concern. Note: Perform valve adjustment when the engine is stone cold. 4cyl: INT 0.26mm EXH: 0.30mm (V6 engine are hydraulic and no adjust necessary.) Also check for a sticking or stuck open EGR valve. For diagnostic purposes only: Remove the EGR valve. Place a business card over the EGR passage and bolt the EGR valve back on. This plugs the EGR ports and if the misfire goes away the EGR valve is partially stuck open and is defective.
Check for low fuel pressure. Check for low compression. Check cam timing. Check for a weak ignition coil. Also don't over look the possibility of worn or broken engine mounts which cause excessive engine movement and engine vibration. -hope this helps

SOURCE: 1992 pontiac grand am no acceleration, a rough idle (engine miss)

Does it have the 2.3l Quad 4 engine? If so replace the plastic piece that the coils go into, they go bad and leak spark to the cam towers and then you get a nice one or multiple cylinder misfire.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant with rough idle

I am having the same issue on Mitsubishi Galant 02. Clattering on acceleration, herky jerky idle. Pulled a code multiple cylinder misfire. My mechanic's diagnosis is bad valve cover gasket causing oil to seap into the spark plugs and bad timing belt, which I have not replaced at 150k miles. I do however know my fuel injectors do need cleaning, he hasn't ruled that out either. Have you pulled any code on it? I have read on engine knock sensor going out on some of these also. Hope this helps some.

Sorry to say but you need another ECM due to water damage. Seal the next one up with sylicone to keep the water out and don't open it!!! There's nothing that YOU can fix inside of it,and that will just VOID the WARRANTY!

How do you remove the stock subwoofer from a nissan sentra 2005 1.8s special edition

If it's the same as my 2000 GXE, you will have to remove the rear deck to access the 4 screws. There appears to be nuts on the sub's bracket visible from the trunk, but they are affixed to the bracket and will not turn.
