Question about 2005 Rover 45 1.6
Mechanic been out said it could be master cylinder or gearbox. Since he has fiddled with slave cylinder, I can change gear but he has advised further investigation.
Try to bleed the system, if you have presure the clutch master cylinder is ok, but if the slave cylinder retracts by it self after holding the pedal , the slave is the problem, the slave is on the transmission, pushes the fork, the master is at the pedal where you apply the force.

that simply means the #3 and #4 misfires. check the resistance of the coil if it is within the range. if not,replace the coils.
the scan tool tells exactly fault.
