NO AM STATIONS IN MY 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, BUT NO PROBLEMS WITH FM. DO I Have to change or repair the radio or the antenna?

A.m. radio stations have a very limited range and honestly modern units include am reception as an after thought. Unless you are within a few miles of the station you probably won't pick it up. That being said if you are close enough and still cannot pick it up then the radio is probably faulty.

My stereo in my jeep will only play am stations no ft stations anyone know how to fix this

stock radio or not? we can not guess that (we blind)
if far from FM stations and close to Am

My radio works on my 2004 jeep grand Cherokee but the time and station don't light up do I need to replace the radio

any thing can be fixed.! (my job that, before retired)
the question (only) is time and money?
if the labor is more than a new upgraded radio.
why fix old.?
is the dash dimmer working, and all other lights on dash bright
the the radio has issues. (stock) if not stock the wires are bad behind radio. the dial wire.
does the radio work? and dial right, can you see the stations, with a flash light, ? then the back light is burned out.
if VFD display or LCD dead , big time $$$ fix.

on mine , 04 i put a new , media only head end.
am/fm , USB , flashcard, aux in, radio
and have micro usb there, very tiny with 4000 songs.
no more discs and radio head is very tiny.

Radio in 2003 jeep grand cherokee does not play cd's. it plays the radio stations, volume works, but it does not eject the cd or even recognize it .

you can look for a radio shop to repair the cd player it would be cheaper to install a aftermarket radio they do have kits if you have steering wheel controls

I have a 1996 jeep grand charakee can't pick up any local stations. the antina looks to be in good condition

If it's a factory radio, it is fairly easy to remove. Once you get it pulled out, you can use a cheap "universal" antenna or even a coat hangar (if you are careful to only touch the center plug contact...wrapping the end with tape often helps) to see if the radio itself can pick up any signal. If not, aftermarket radios (with a harness adapter) or one from a scrapyard, if far cheaper than a repair.

Radio in jeep cherokee will pick up few stations but not many local stations. It used to pick up many, then one day stopped picking up any, then one day picked up a few which is where we are today. I...

Common problem... first, the antenna isn't connected directly to the radio... sometimes the junction points will crack and separate... second, sometimes the radios, radio tuner will go bad. if you have a Cherokee (not a Grand Cherokee) check you passenger side kick panel (location of a common antenna connection weak point) . Some genius placed a spring in the connection... just pull the spring out, reconnect and tape the connection together... Let me know if this helped at all... if the connections are all good, you will have to replace the radio... but, from what you described you wont have to...

Adding a radio w/ remote changer to a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

in most cases the wiring is already there, it is cheaper for the manufacturer to use one harness than many different ones, I know this is true on GM and Ford, should be the same with Chrysler products as well.
