It sounds like it may need to b reset. If you remove the face, look at the flat panal where the face was up against. You should see a small "pin hole" similar to the kind on a digital watch. Use a small probe and gently push it in. Hold it for a second or two, release it you should the CD mech. Cycle. Attach the face turn on the key and if... all should work.
