SOURCE: BOTTOM RAD HOSE COLD TOP HOT. ENGINE TEMP ABOUT

Did you burp the air out of the system after changing those parts? It sounds like the thermostat isn't opening which is why the lower hose is still cold. Click my screenname, go to my tips and tricks, and choose the one about burping the cooling system - it may help you out.

SOURCE: Overheating problem

i had something similar once, it ended up being the intake radiator hose, it has a metal coil inside, mine was broken and when you revved the motor it would **** the hose shut and overheat, but under 2000 rpm it was fine .

SOURCE: heater not getting hot

You need to check the car t cold start up by checking both the lower and upper radiator hoses. After a few minutes one should be hotter than the other. If not the themostat may be stuck open. also chech to ee if there is heater contro valve from the engine to one of the hoses going to the heater core and see if it actuates by moving the temperature control from cold to warm.

My 2005 honda civic is not producing heat only blowing cold air

Check that the heater pipe are hot, there are 2 pipes 1 in and 1 out. if both cold could be stat .If 1 is hot and the other is cold it could be air or blocked heater matrix, with car running take cold pipe off . if water flows out check its warm, if it flows out cold leave till water warms up then put pipe back on, make sure you keep radiator topped up while your doing it, if no water comes out when you take the pipe off the matrix is blocked, take both hoses of and flush through with a hose pipe.

1986 dodge caravan heater troubleshooting, not heating the vehicle

try bleeding the heater matrix out to remove the air, with the heater switched to hot, disconnect the out flow pipe from the engine end with the motor just warm, (so you dont scold yourself), till water flows well then reconnect pipe and top up system, if theres no flow then you need to flush the matrix out by disconnecting both water pipes and connecting a hose to the in flow of the matrix and flushing out till water runs out the out flow end, then reconnect hoses and bleed out, top up rad or heder tank and check anti-freeze.

Audi a6 quattro 1999 cooling system light is on ,how to fix or what fo i do?

Hi Manuel, That warning light indicates the coolant level is low. To attend the problem make sure the engine is cold. Open the filer cap and the bleeding nipple. Open the cabin heater control to fully hot and fill until all air bubbles have been evacuated from the cooling system (top up with the required mixture of water and coolant/anti freeze, about 40 percent coolant sixty water) When all bubbles have been evacuated, close the bleed nipple and replace the filler cap. Set the cabin temperature as required. If coolant is at correct level and system has been bled it is possible the sender unit may have become defective. Regards John

Heaters blow cold on my vauxhall vectra

I have a astra the same thing ,when its really cold i slide a piece of cardboard in front of the rad ,yes i know i changed the thermostat behind the timing cover and it should get hot but?? bled the top heater hose and all that but for some reason it will not get hot .The only other thing i do when the weather get cold is to fit a renault thermostat in the top hose ,one of the old renault 4 /5 type that goes in the pipe but as this spain it doesnt get that cold very often .You could try removing the pipes to the heater and flushing with a hose pipe and reversing the direction a few times but if the engine isnt getting hot to start with then thats most likely your problem .

Heaters in car blowing cold air

USE A RAD FLUSH SOLUTION OR CHECK THE HEIGHT OF THE HEATER MATRIX IN THE CAB , IF ITS HIGHER THAN THE FILLER/EXPANSION TANK. THEN ITS AN AIR LOCK, LOOK FOR THE HIGHEST PIPE AND SEE IF THERE IS A BLEED VALVE, IF NOT TAKE BOTH PIPES OFF THE MATRIX FEEDS AND FLUSH OUT TO SEE IF IT IS BLOCKED, AND RECONNECT LOWEST PIPE FIRST AND FILL SYSTYM TILL WATER APPEAR FROM TOP AND RECONNECT RUN MOTOR, AND KEEP TOPIN UP

99 subaru legacy overheats...

it may have a blown head gasket if it keep over heating or there could be just an air lock in the cooling water,, you will need to bleed the air out to stop the over heat as the water is not going around the engine its not opening the thermostat so it cant bleed its self take off a water pipe thats the higest pipe you can find it may have a bleed vent in a pipe were you can bleed it from ,,,top up the rad and header tank take off the bleed nippel when water with no air is coming out and the jobs a good un? run the motor for a time or go for a drive to check its not ever heating again and the heater should by now be blowing hot air,, top up the rad and header tank when its coold down

Van has new rad on all pipes are hot including the pipes into the bulkhead although the out let pipe is warm, temp gauge in dash working normally, have flushed out the system for blocks everything coming...

YOUR problem could be either the air valve that opens the heater from hot to cold and is worked by vacuum and if the pipe is split then you wont get the heat etc.
also change the thermostat and open the heater to hot before bleeding the coolant system..

Peugot 405 diesel Turbo GLX 1995. Heater no longer blows out hot air. I have checked all fluid levels and they appear to be correct. i have flushed the system and topped up. help!

3 things to try

1. in the left hand side foot well, remove the trim at the front of the center console and make sure all the heater control cables and valves move as you operate the controls

2. small cabin temperature sensor - , passenger side, above and to the right of the glove box - grille about 20mm in dia. There is a small fan in the sensor to **** the air in over the temp sensor, but it can in rare cases gives up, and leaves the controller lost and it reverts to full heat or full cold. The fan is little brushless DC job, so you can't do anything with it - got to buy a replacement - which isn't cheap. As a short term, you can hang the sensor out of hiding place which allows it to work sort of. - if you can find a way to get it out
3. the heater matrix is lower than the feed and return pipes - mine was full of radiator sealent (radweld)
drain the coolent water and disconnect the two hose inside the engine bay that feed the heater matrix (they are on the passeger side if your car is right hand drive)
now give the matrix a good flush by sticking a hose pipe into the metal pipes that go inside the car - do this in both directions until clear ------ i had to use kettle descaler and radiator flush left over night in mine.

when you refill make a header tank by cutting off the bottom of a 2 ltr soft drinks bottle, remove the scew cap and wrap some tape around the top of the bottle, and stick it in the top of the radiator
fill the sytem and use the bottle to create a good head of water

make sure the heater controls are on HOT and bleed using all the bleed points
mae sure you bleed it all properly
