It would be to hard to tell and show you over the computer.
The best and easiest way for you is to buy a Chilton manual for your car at the autoparts store. The book runs about $20
This book is a do-it-yourself bible. It will show you everything you need to know on how to do maintenance and repair on your vehicle.

SOURCE: Nissan Altima, horrible sound due to ABS; brakes are still good

Hi, i found where is the problem and its your sensor near the brake of each wheel you must use a hammer and bang (knock) the sensor of each wheel just a little not to hard and see what happening after each wheel. I think its the position of the sensor move every 3 or 6 month and need to be replace because of the dirt in the break.

SOURCE: My 2008 Nissan altima will not start sometimes

do the brake lights come on when you press the brake? If not the brake switch is bad. If they do, check your brake fluid. Ive heard of these Altimas having bad master brake cylinders. If your brakes(pads) are good and your fluid is really low, this may be your culprit. Should be covered under warranty.Let me know how you make out.

My 2008 Nissan Altima 40,000miles needs new brakes in the front, according to the dealership. Does this mean I need new brake pads? The dealership also said the brake system fluid was dirty and cont

Yes, it's typical for any vehicle to have the front brake pads and rotors replaced at 40,000 miles or less. A complete service would involve (2) new front brake rotors, (1 set) of new front brake pads (this includes 4 pads), brake fluid, silicone brake grease for the slide pins and possibly new slide pins (If they're corroded) and rubber seals for the slide pins. Because of the age of your vehicle, it's always a good idea to have the brake fluid changed (This means that your mechanic should bleed the brake system by opening the bleed screw on all (4) brake calipers). Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and will start to break down (Lower the boiling point) and cause rust inside the system making your brakes less effective. Look at the brake fluid reservoir under the hood. The fluid should appear either clear (Perfectly clean) or slightly yellowish. If it appears to be light to dark brown, it's time to change it. If I were you, I would shop around for prices at other reputable service shops. Your dealer is going to charge you top dollar for this service. Hope this helps.

Periodically my 2008 Altima push button ignition won't start. Dealership says battery, alternator, elec. system all ok. Any help?

There is a sensor near your brake pads that tells the electrical component in the bush button that you are pushing in the brake. I was having the same problem and just had mine replaced.

How do i remove the rear brake drums from a nissan altima 2005

usually the brake shoes are to expanded to just pull off, one must locate the adjustment hole which should have a rubber plug (often missing) elongated oval shape about an inch
behind drum , around 6 or 12 oclock( depending on model). there is a spur gear. with a flat screwdriver, or modified bent one; turn spur to loosen brake pads.if getting tight u r going the wrong way.
