If the injector pump is an inline pump ( where all the injector pipes are arranged along the top of the pump the no 1 injector is the line closest to the front of the engine . If it is a rotary pump ( where the injector lines mare arranged in a circle at the back of the pump no 1 will be either at the 10 oclock or 2 oclock position. As the injector lines are hard and bent for each piston then the line from no 1 injector will point to the no1 position on the pump regardless of how many cylinders there are. If it is a common rail diesel then it doesn't matter because the injection timing is electronic and set from the crank shaft position sensor.

Does this happen when the engine is cold or all the time? You may have a cracked head gasket. does your car use water.
Also have you compression tested the motor. This will tell you if the engine has got lower compression in one of the cylinders which will help to narrow down the problem with the motor.

Komatsu FD25 running problem with Komatsu 4d95s engine.

cracking an injector line relieves pressure to that injector and if it made no difference it could be from a couple of things
if no fuel dripped from the nut then there is air in that line and it should be left loose until fuel drips from the nut
if you have fuel dripping from the nut and there is no difference then that indicates a faulty injector
cracking 2 and 4 and the engine stopped indicates that 3 also is in trouble
Basically I would be taking the injectors back to a specialist diesel shop for a re-calibration and new tips rather that reconditioned tips
next --when dealing with injectors and injector pipes , if the pipes have been removed and allowed to sit around for a while , they can collect dust from the fuel still in the pipes and so before fitting they should be blown out with compressed air as that small speck of dust can jam the injector needle and prevent operation
The engine is running (albiet at low performance ) but it is running so that would indicate that any mechanical work done is ok and the problems are in the fuel deliver system--injectors and pump
if the pump has been removed the low performance could also be from pump timing so have that rechecked
if it is an inline pump ( where all the pipes come out of the top ) there is a simple procedure to check and adjust the timing accurately and if it is a rotary ( distributor) type pump with the lines from the back end , thee is a special tool and a dial gauge that is used to set the timing accurately
SO being a dealer and a reputation for reliable equipment is essential for your business I would suggest that you now bring in an accredited specialist diesel fitter to tune the fuel system
as to the stop system , a cable is as good as a solenoid as it only stops the fuel and is not part of the problem

How do i find top dead center on a nissan frontier qd32 engine?

There are a number of ways. If it is a petrol engine, remove the number 1 spark plug, on a diesel remove the no. 1 injector (ouch). Place a straight sturdy wire (welding rod or cut off the long end of a wire clothes hanger) and gently push it down the cylinder. Have someone slowly turn the engine by hand using a socket on the front engine pulley while feeling the wire as it moves up out of the plug / injector hole. Never try doing this trick by turning the starter motor, it will end in disaster.
When the piston reaches top dead center, the wire will stop moving. There will be a slight movement of the crankshaft of about 10 to 15 degrees where it is difficult to feel any movement at all, so find the position half-way between where the wire stops moving up and starts moving down. This halfway position is top dead center.
At this point you should see a mark on the front engine pulley lining up with a pin or small plate on the engine block.
Otherwise, there will be a mark (a line) on the flywheel which should line up with a mark on the bell housing which you should be able to see through an inspection hole in the bell housing. Use a flashlight to see these marks line up.
Be careful, however. On a 4 cylinder engine either 1 and 4 (firing order 1-3-4-3) or 1 and 2 cylinders (firing order 1-3-2-4) are at TDC at the same time. It is too much of a hassle to mention all the engine types, just check the firing order and divide the number of cylinders by 2, the first half starts off with no 1 and whatever the number the second half starts off with, those two are at TDC at the same time.

Dont know how to put back fuel pipes from pump to injectors on a 2006 isuzu 2.5 fleetside please help

The injector pipes are pre-bent to the correct positions so offer the pipe up to the pump and injector and if it will not easily then put it on the next injector until it fits exactly.

Hi, I need some help please! I have a peugeot 406 2.1 td p reg. I've had to put a 1.9 bosh pump on it to bipass the imobiliser. does any one know what order the injection pipes go in. cheers ale

Hi Alex, The firing order is 1-3-4-2. When fitting the injector pump I hope you noticed the match marks for timing. When fitted and aligned the engine will be at TDC firing on one. To identify # 1 on the pump, connect the fuel supply and bleed air from the system and rotate the engine one and three quarter revolutions by hand, having someone watch which outlet ejects fuel when passing TDC completing the second rotation. That will indicate number one piston. Follow the firing order for the remaining three. Regards John

Fuel injector. The car seems to drop a cylinder. I replaced the plugs and it ran well for about five minutes. It then started to miss again. I think number 3 injector is bad. How do I replace one injector.

Vw t4 1.9 td number 2 injector pipe keeps snapping every man and his dog has looked at it as i'm in the motor trade, i'm having nightmares with this 16 pipes i gone threw any help any1? got the clamps on...

I have studied several photos of the fuel injector pipes and #2 seems to show up a problem, It has a long bend in it which could be the cause of some harmonic vibration. Try one of two things. Make up a clamping block that holds the pipe rigidly against some firm support, include the #1 pipe if need be, or have another pipe made up out of a better quality material, that is able to withstand the required pressure but is softer and able to absorb shocks and vibration and that does not work harden or get brittle in use. Try a hydraulic pipe supply outlet for a new pipe and see if you can change the length and routing to prevent vibration and shock.

I have a new fuel pump but my car still wont start why ?

What makes you think its was the fuel pump in the first place .
What about the spark /and the plugs/and the coils/and can you hear your fuel pump working when you turn on the ign key,can you hear a motor running in the fuel tank, if not then take off the feed pipe to the engine and get someone to turn on the key and petrol should come out ,if not either the pump isent pumping owing to no power to pump /fues/broken wire to pump/or fuel filter needs replacing .
If you can hear the pump and fuel comes out the pipe from the tank .and the injectors are ok then check out the plugs for spark/ take out 1 plug and put it in the pluglead and lay it on the engine and spin it over if a good blue spark then you have no problems with that side of it
but it will be 1 of the 3 things.. Let me know how you get on Ron
