A nuber of things could be wrong but the first thing to do is check oil level and verify you have good oil pressure. If that is good then you are looking at internal engine malfunction. Either tappets or road bearings. Or even something as simple as bad gas. But without more information it is hard to make an accurate estimate. Is it smoking.and if so what color.

Where is the water pump on a 94 Mitsibishi Mighty Max

great question , WHERE.?
The answer is usually on the front of the engine, so the fan belt can spin it.
its a pickup , RWD PU.
no engine options stated.
here is the list. each are different.
2.0 L G63B I4
2.4 L 4G64 I4
2.6 L 4G54 I4
2.5 L 4D56 diesel I4
2.5 L 4D56 TD I4
3.0 L 6G72 V6 (4WD) on most engines see the fan belts.
and one goes to each accessories
the on going NOT TO THE P/S and A/C and Alternator

using the process of elimination logic. (no engine stated)
don't feel bad 99% here never say. par for course.

Idles wierd during cold start.... up and down then when coming to stop idle will go up and down codes just anoying.... 90 gallant vr4

Sounds like an air leak-vaccuum leak- check vacuum hoses and intake manifold gasket. Sounds like the engine is pulling in more air than it should.

Engine rattles

Some engines use a knock sensor...If yours has one it likely isn't working...Also check that oil pressure is good. If not you have an internal engine problem.

Subaru Outback - '03 boxer 2.5L engine sounds like a diesel

heavier oil if you are not in a cold climate. but before you do that have the oil pressure checked. We used to use a can of STP every once in a while on a motor in a dodge we had... nothing wrong with it... was just noisy.

Belts replacement for Mitsubishi gallant (1997)

Is your engine a 4 or 6 cylinder? Air conditioning or no? Either way, a power steering belt at Auto Zone will run you from $7.99 to $12.99. If replacing that does not help, it may be your pump.
HOWEVER, before anything else, PLEASE CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL IN THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR. It may be low. If so, just add fluid to the correct level.:)
