Question about Cars & Trucks
Typically the red wire is a Positive voltage wire. If you were told the wire goes to the fuse box, you should get a wire diagram for the wire harness. On the diagram it should show connections marked with numbers and possibly colors. The computer on the wire diagram should show a red wire marked Vcc or Positive or something like that, trace that wire on the diagram carefully to the fuse box on the diagram, the fuse box on the diagram should be marked with a fuse rating at the location where the wire connects. As long as the fuse rating is the same and it's marked as "ECU" or something similar related to the "engine control unit", that is where you connect it. DON"T put it on any other connection with a different fuse rating, it could damage the computer as soon as you turn the key. this should give you enough info to get it connected and if not you can refer to this to explain to someone else. Good Luck.

SOURCE: installing after market stereo
You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!
