The error message HOLD is showing on the dash near the 4x4 lights. What is this, is it bad? What do I do? Thanks

Hi. Take a deep breath of relief. First off this is not an error message and you should not panic. On your center console just below the gear shifter and the 4WD lever is an button that has "A/T MODE" written on it. This is what engages the 3 different driving modes to best assist you depending on the road conditions you are on. If the button is depressed at the top then the "PWR" mode is being used and on your dashboard you will notice a button flashing "PWR". This means that you have selected a driving mode that will avail you more power from the engine in instances like when you are driving up steep hills or a mountain or when you require to overtake a speeding car. Be warned, fuel consumption is high in this mode. When the button is depressed at the bottom, the "HOLD' mode is in effect and on your dash board the "HOLD' light will flash. This mode is best used when starting on a slippery surface like snow. Your car will start smoothly in second gear. When the neither the button is depressed at the top or bottom, then you are in 'NORMAL" mode which is for normal driving and where the car will run smoothly and use the lest amount of fuel. Hope this helps.

A couple years ago, I dropped a coin down behind the dash of my van, and it has done something to the insturment panel, at times the temp meter don't work, the speedometer don't work, and the gas hand...

The coin probably has nothing to do with the dash problem. That is a common problem among Voyagers. Here is some more info. that might help you. Problem #1 The blinking lights in the rear wiper rear defrost area can be reset by holding 2 buttons of the 3 on the left hand side. The top and bottom buttons. Turn the key on and hold them for about 10 sec and they should start flashing differently. Just let it do this. After they start flashing different. It will take 5 to 10 mins. Then one or more will quit flashing all together. If they don't after about 20 min reset them again it can take about 5 trys sometimes before they all go out. Also to fix the dash going out try this. This is a common problem with the voyager, caravans and Town & Countrys. What the problem is is a cold soder in the interment cluster itself. The problem area is where the plug comes from the van into the cluster. You need to take the circuit board out of the cluster and reheat the soder on the back side of the circuit board were the plug plugs into. This will fix the cold soder permanitly I think its about 16 pins you have to reheat with the soder gun. If you don't feel comfrotable doing that you can just replace the interment cluster and it will be fine but if you buy a used one make sure it was tested. Hope this helps I have done several of them.

Why does my honda accord 1999 model 2.3L engine show the sign "maintainance required on the dash board?

More than likely it's a reminder for the oil change. Easy fix:
With the key out, hold down the reset button on your odometer, put the key in, and turn the car on while still holding the button down. Wait until the Maintenance Required light goes off, probably about 30 seconds or so, and then turn it off and remove the key and your finger from the button. Restart the car, it should flash once (as it always does) and then stay off.
Try any combo, your 99 may be different than my 01, but shouldn't be very much. Good luck!

How to turn change oil light

iI you mean 'how to turn change oil light off" go to fuse panel. Open drivers door there is a panel cover on the side of dash board, remove cover there is a red RESET button that resets oil pressure and tire pressure. Turn the ignition key to the on position but don't start the car. Now press and release the reset button the change oil light should start to flash, now press and hold the reset button until you hear chimming hold until chimming stops then release, the change oil light should go off. If you need to reset tire pressure press reset button twice, the first push will make the change oil light flash the second press will make the tire pressure light flash then hold untill chimming stops, light should go out . Hope this helps.

On my dash board panel there is a flashing hold button. i have no idea what is causing it. every once in a while the transmission seems to slip though

Unfortunately, there's only 2 causes of this. One the computer is located under the heater core( center of dash) & it's leaking on the computer. Replace the heater core & pcm(computer). Or it needs a transmission. Sorry for the bad news,.

I cant set the time on the dash board on a 1999 dodge caravan.

Hold the time button down and see if the hour starts flashing. you can use the seek buttons to change the time. If that doesn't work try holding it with the power off on the radio.
