Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible
Do not try to pry it off the door panel, it will break it as it is welded ( plastic) to the door panel. remove the entire door panel for testing. many times the wiring between the body and drivers door will break inside the rubber boot from bending back and forth when the door opens and closes. many times i have seen this cause window related problems

Are you sure it is the switch? test it ? pry it up and short it by passing a screwdriver (dont touch the metal with your hand) over the contacts. If it works than it is the switch, go to your Chrysler dealer or ebay or favorite parts place and purchase a new one... folow instructionsd for replacement.

Sounds like you need to get it scanned for trouble codes. It will most likely need a new air bag clock spring. This is the wound connection under the steering wheel, it is a common failure item. It may be some other things related to the safty restraint system, but that will show up in a vehicle scan.

This is for the ignition switch like you are asking for:
Ignition Switch REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze CAUTION
The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before working around the steering column. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bags, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.

Should be located close to the oil filter. It will screw in like a spark plug. It has a harness plug. Easy to change, save yourself $70 in labor. You will need a fairly large wrench to remove

why do you want your rpms higher while idling? you don't want them high because your gas bill will reflect that. slow shouldn't matter but if it's dying while on idle it could either be your mass air flow sensor or your fuel filter being clogged

Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock). The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module. If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!
