I assume you mean the Tachometer stopped working. What year, make, model, is the car and what engine and transmission does the car have and is it a analog or digital dashboard?

Did the light go out or the gauge stop working? Most instrutment panels are electrical. If light went out, you need to change out the bulb. Better to replace instrutment panel. If guage stop working, follow step 1, changing out the panel itself. Its easier.

If you are talking about the tachometer that shows RPM's there is none it is part of the engine control module or dash cluster and needs to be checked out by a mechanic that has the proper testing machine..sorry good luck.

I have a Yamaha fz 6 and when I jumped it off today went about 1/4 mile and lost all power to my speedometer, blinkers work but it blows fuses to ignition every time I turn key on.

I once had a Suzuki that blew fuses due to vibration at high rpm so I put in a circuit breaker. The type I used reset itself. If your fuse blows asap then you need a short detector. They are cheap and instructions to use them on youtube.

check to ensure that the fuse you are using is adequate for the current draw of the fuel pump. Place an ammeter in the power line to the fuel pump and read the amps drawn then rev it up and see if the current increases. Check the alternator for correct charge rate .

If you are saying the dash lights and parking lights are out, it could be the headlight switch or a ground problem.

In my 2000 caravan the gas gage spedometer rpm gage and temp gage do not work. I checked all the fuses and none look blown. What else could be the problem

Hi, I just went through this in a 96 grand caravan, make sure that there is no corrosion on the battery terminals, causes problems with the BCM. Also in the under hood fuse pannel there is a fuse for the IDO, pull the fuse for a couple of minutes then replace. this causes the BCM to reset. Ive also heard that if you have this problem and have the rear winshield wiper fuse blowing out you have a short in the rear wiring, find the short and repair it and you solve the problem, CRAZY hua? Good luck. the first two solutions worked for me.

Fuse for instruments, 10 amp keeps blowing speedometer and rpm gauge don't work changed fuse it just went right away

It sounds like there is an aftermarket(not stock) radio wired in. If the wrong wires were used for the face illumination, it will do this.

All these gauges are controlled by a fuse, start there first, if they are blow just replace them, you should find all necessary info in your manual that came with the car when you bought it new.

04 Chevy 2500HD 60 mo. orig. battery replaced now click-click??

Hello;
I have seen stranger things happen, but to my knowledge there is no reset when you replace the battery. GM does put a lot of connections at the terminals and you need to ensure all the wires went back on. Also check the fuse/relay box under the hood to make sure a relay or fuse did not blow. Hope this helps.
Rate me high.
Thanks;
