Yes it is,you need to find out the type of battery you replaced.
the plastic tube you see it is to stop idrogen reaction while battery produce when charged from other device.
All batteries brands differ from each other, please find out your brand and ask about the kit. BMW has nothing to do with this, it is something about batteries companies.
hope i helped you a bit so do not forget to click on the best answer.

Any help garage fitted a new battery on my x5 e53 03 now none off the electrics work central locking windows. wipers ect and alarm keep going off too

Check the battery connections to make sure they are all tight.
It sounds like a cable was left loose and the contact is not constant.
Just grab the terminal connections one at a time and shake/twist them a bit to see if they are loose.

Where is the location of fuel shut off please? is it manual reset? could changing the battery have engaged the immobilizer?

To be honest Phil-- I do not know or work on a
Range Rover

But in my 50 years of experience, I have only seen &
heard of Ford & some Mazda Products, that every had
a Fuel Safety Shut Off Switch & they should only open
& shut off the fuel pump, if you have a very hard & serious
accident.

You should be able to Google the question

BMW 2002 X5 Battery Drain

I am having the same problem with my 2002 X5. There is a motor or fan running behind the AC control panel on the dash and if I pull fuse 48 it stops and the battery doesn't drain. Still looking for the cause and solution so that I don't have to keep pulling and installin fuse 48. BMW garage suggested that it was the Final Stage Blower Resistor. I replaced this and no change. I hope someone has an answer that will help us both.

I have a 1991 Ford f150 Latiat with thr 5.0 enging it keeps killing the batterys, i installed a ne solenoid, altinator and a new starter and it still kills the battery, what can be the problem?

i am not an expert but it sounds to me like you either have a ground problem or you have a hot wire that is grounding out some where i would start under the dash first

My battery is always drained after I stop driving the x5?

Is the battery and the battery connection in good conditions? Try to charge the battery overnight with a battery charger. If then it starts your engine, the battery may be ok.
I recently had an issue with my car that the connection to the battery was corroded that was not visible just by looking at the battery. The connection had to be cleaned and solved the issue.
If the battery and generator in your vehicle is ok, then it must be a short circuit in the car that drains the battery. Locating that may require shop visit.

Check the battery to see if it is drained (recharge if necessary). If this doesn't remedy the issue, try checking the fuel filter or filter lines to see if they are blocked.

BMW X5 Battery Drain.

hello theringbar, I would recommend checking the a/c blower resistor. it is an electronic final stage and can kill the battery overnight. the final stage is located on the passenger side at the back of the a/c heater box.
