Try changing the fuel filter. That should solve the problem. If not, try adding some fuel system cleaner and running through a tank of gas to help clean those injectors. I personally like the Sea Foam brand, but there are several different brands available. You could ask your people at the Auto Parts Store for a recommendation.

Before spending money check your vacum line going to accutator switch that is located under the hod on firewall. Originaly what it does is switch your system from floor, windshield and dasboard to blow te air in these directions. If it is stuck in one position and even when you try to switch the position lever moves but nothing is hapenning indicates that vacum line is broken.Let me know what did you find!

My 1992 chevy g20 van surges and i'm not sure exactly why. I changed the pcv valve, fuel filter, spark plugs, and air filter. What are some possibilities

My first thought would be a vacuum leak in one of the hoses. Rubber hoses get brittle with age and even a small crack in a hose may cause surging. Happened to me in a Lumina.

How do i change the fuel filter on a dodge 3500 diesel dually

Hello aboadwine -- You didn't say what year model, but for the 6.7 cummins they didn't change very much.

Here is a link with instructions, even has pretty pictures for you.
You will need a good filter wrench, ratchet, & extension...cause they do get tight.
I hope this helps... good luck with the Ram.

Smoke when start moving.2.5 crdi 2006 model

if it smokes when you start moving , and then clears the first thing to do is change the air filter, even if it looks clean.
i would not even start looking for other causes until this has been done.
do not run the car without an air filter to test it as this will affect the airflow and can cause problems on its own. filters are very cheap and readily available. the slightest dirt on an air filter can reduce the air flow through it and while it may not appear dirty, it can affect airflow enough to result in a rich fuel mix being burnt under power, resulting in smoke. as you get up to speed and ease up on the throttle, not as much air is needed and enough can frow through the filter giving the correct fuel mix and less smoke.

if this does not work please feel free to ask again but 99 times out of 100 a new air filter will cure smoke when pulling away in a fairly new car.

How to give a tune up for a 1990 toyota 4runner?

with many new modern fuel injected vehicles its hard to give them a tune up without plugging them into a computer or getting an aftermarket computer chip and programmer.

however, if your toyota is running a little rough and getting bad gas mileage i would reccomend a new set of spark plugs and wires. and maybe a new fuel filter, i would do the spark plugs first, if the results are not satisfactory then change the spark plug wires, and if the results are still not up to your standards comparing the way it used to run to how it runs now then change the fuel filter. doing all these things will make the vehicle run clean and efficient like it should. and if it doesnt than im sure you have a vacum or oxygen sensor problem.

just wanna hop up the performance a little bit and get better fuel mileage?
then i would suggest and personally recommend a complete K&N cold air intake kit.

Sometimes i get lack of power, this seems tobe intermittent?its as if there is a delay of about 3 seconds, sometimes i smell fuel.ive changed plugs and air filter.please can u help?

is the check engine light on?
this could be a number of different sensors(mass air flow, crankshaft position sensor etc), or even a wet ECU.

I have a 99 M3 (new to 400,000 kms), had to change the ECU twice now. ecu compartment gets wet. Wet circuit boards do lots of different things. If you've checked most of the standard stuff plus, coils, check the ECU box area below the windshield passenger side.

mine started with a replacement windshield, grounded off area never retouched with paint and rusted out, water off the windshield drained into the ecu compartrment and soaked the ECU slightly different results when things got wet,

2007 toyota camry-idel problem/dealership has not resolved can't find problem

I had the same problem with my 2001 Toyota Echo after it reached about 110,000 miles. At red lights & stop signs, the car began to noticeably vibrate. At first I suspected a transmission problem or a broken engine mount. Upon looking deeper, however, neither was the problem. Instead, it turned out to be a dirty air filter under the hood. I changed the air filter & the situation improved noticeably. It turns out the dirty air filter was restricting air flow into the car's computerized sensors & as a result it was idling very rough when in Drive at red lights & stop signs when I was going 0 MPH & my foot was off the gas pedal. After changing the air filter, the situation improved greatly, although it still vibrates a little bit but nothing like it did before. Toyota air filters cost about $11 (give or take) & can be changed in 5 to 10 minutes if you know how to do it. Hope this helps...Have A Great Day...
