The recommended plug for this motovehicle is the Autolite ASP 85. A number of Champion plugs should fit, including: RJ12YC, J12YC, J11Y, UJ12Y.

SOURCE: 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.0L need spark plug gap

It is normal for the electrodes to wear as the plugs age. This increases the distance between the electrodes which in turn leads to a gradual increase in the firing voltage required to jump the gap. The gap on a standard spark plug grows about 0.00063 to 0.000126 inch for every 1,000 miles of normal driving, which means the firing voltage requirements creep up about 500 volts for every 10,000 to 15,000 miles of driving.

The OE Champion plug gap specifications are .048 - .053" or 1.24 - 1.37mm. in accessing and changing the plugs on the PT. They have the same gap specifications as the OE plugs. Most owners gap at .050. We prefer to use the Champion Double Platinum plugs, which are more durable, provide extended plug life, and reduce the need for maintenance, given the difficulty However, if you experienced excessive rough idle with your last set of plugs we suggest gaping the OE and DP plugs to .042 and consider replacing the OE plug ignition wires.

Excessive gap can cause performance and drive ability problems, including hard starting, an engine miss and or hesitation under load, and can shorten the life of the plug (accelerated tip erosion). If it were me I would re-gap them to the correct specs if they are currently gaped at .060.

Thank you for using Fixya.

A champion plug 12jyc what moter will it fit in

plugs for 350 block , 4 barrel carby 1967-19710 is j12yc
all plug descriptions have a series of letters number and letters..you can download the champion chart from the champion plug site
it works like--- this any plug that will screw in the hole will provide a spark
you have to measure the thread length in the head as the plug thread cannot be longer or shorter that that length
next the sealing is by taper or copper gasket so the plug will require the same as is in the head ( flat or taper ) whether the electrode protrudes or not depends on the application ( High speed engine etc)
there are factors that come into it as well like the heat range ---cold plugs for new engines and hot plugs for worn engines to burn the oil

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus and awhile ago I switched the plugs to a Autolite plug. Then I decided there might a problem and went back to the Champion plugs.

I believe the factory originals are champion brand, and would have been platinum, but it should still run decent with the coppers. The only thing I can think of is they are of the wrong gap. Copper plugs do not come pre- gapped at all and need to be done by installer. The gap for your stratus, if it's a 4 cylinder is .050. Wrong gap will cause no power and shaking. Correct champion number in copper is #443, and should say that on the box/plug.

What is the spark plug gap in a 1991 dodge caravan 2.5 liter useing autolite spark pluges

Throw away the auto liters and get yourself four champion spark plugs. Champions work in chryslers, auto lites/motorcraft work in fords, NGk for Japanese, ac delco for GM's, Bosch for European.

Follow ow those rules and you will likely never have a drivability issue caused buy the wrong spark plug.

Set them to .035" and you should be good to go.

What's the best spark plug for a 1996 dodge truck

"Best" is a matter of opinion.
I like to stick with what the car company put in at the factory, which would be Champion or Autolite for Dodge.
You can look up the part number in the book in the store or online depending on which engine you have.
