If any light is on your dash, after the motor is running or your driving,you have a system failure, to find & diagnose

The light is on to protect one of the vehicle systems
I don't know without codes, any more than that

Have to look at scan tool data & go from there

I wouldn't be using it

Keep in mind this site is worldwide,not everyone
has heard of a V40 -- nor have I

There is a light bulb inside the dashboard that needs to be replaced. You unscrew the dashboard and then unclip the dash cluster out from the dashboard and replace the bulb behind the check engine light slot. Should take less than a half hour. Most auto parts stores stock the bulbs.

did you use a OBD-II scanner to erase codes!! this method is prefered. if you do not have one, auto-zone will erase the light for free. good-day !

Daytime driving lights

turn the lights off at the headlamp switch, hold the high beam flash stalk on and turn the light switch all the way on and then all the way off again. This toggles the DRL on my 2004 V40.

cannot remember if you have to have the ignition on (engine not running) or engine off.

give it a fiddle and see what happens.
