Question about 2008 Pontiac Torrent
Need to replace heater core. I'm a do it yopurself person. thanks
That's a headache of a job. But if you're in for a challenge, you should invest in a manual. Also there are some other things you might want to pay special attention to during installation to avoid possible damage to other components which will have to be removed and reinstalled.

SOURCE: Pontiac Fiero Heater Core
no its actually really easy i just did it about 3 weeks ago. right under the dash on the passenger side the is a black box unscrew the cover on the side of it and the heater core is right there then you have to disconnect the hoses under the hood which might be the hardest part after that unbolt the straps holding the heater core on. I keep the straps on till i get the hoses off because then the heater core don't move when you are trying to get the hoses off. Then all you have to do is put it back together.

i do believe you have to take the passengers side dash apart behind the glove compartment. go to autozone and get a manual or go to the library and check the chiltons manual. this is not an easy job. how bad is the leak? if its not bad these heater cores are made of all aluminum. i would buy a bottle of that radiator additive and see if that takes care of the problem first. it only cost about 5 bucks a bottle and it may permanantly fix your problem.

If leaking coolant under dash on passenger side floor broad it's your heater core. Call's for 2.8 labor flat time to remove heater core, in some case's you'll have to recover, evacuate and recharge your A/C system to remove your heater core.Sit under dash on passenger side.
