SOURCE: 2003 kia spectra check engine code p0604

I have bad news for you
p0604 is a transmission control module

check the connection at the transmission control module if there are no connection issues than you will need to replace the transmission controll module "tcm" there is no other test for that code.

good luck

How do I install the alternator on a 2003 KIA Spectra?

I just replaced the alternator on my 2003 Kia Spectra, not an easy job. It has to be removed from under the vehicle. First, after disconnecting the battery, remove the "locking" bolt on the topside of the alternator, along with the adjusting bolt (both metric 12mm). This is done from the topside, (rear, right side of the engine compartment). From under the vehicle, loosen the bolt that holds the alternator. At this point you have to decide whether to loosen the exhaust manifold or motor mount. I choose the motor mount. I loosened the mount and used a floor jack to raise the engine, only needed about an inch. Good luck.

How to replace alternator belt on an 03 spectra

Look at the alt. On top you should see a "t" shaped bolt system 1 is facing the wheel well the other facing twords the firewall. Loosen the one facing the wheel well first. then you will see an other bolt on the bottom of the alt facing the wheel well loosen that one up. after those 2 are loosened go back to the bolt facing the firewall and loosen that you will see the alt will be able to slide twords the engine and give you enough slack to remove the belt.

I need to change my VSS on my 2003 Kia Spectra. I need to know where it is located. And the best way to replace it.

Its Located on the top of the transaxle. To get to it you may have to remove the air filter housing once youve done that you should have easy access to it. Just disconnect the wire to it and unscrew the one bolt holding it in place and pull it out.

Inhibitor switch

eh , Automatic transaxel Range (TR) switch , can also be referred to as the Inhibitor Switch , personally i would call it the neutral safety switch , anyway you can find the "inhibitor" switch on top left side of transaxel , it goes over the shifter shaft coming out of the trans where the shifter cable bolts onto . Looks like a 1/4 of a circle . cheers mate
