P0455 and P0302


The P0455 has nothing to do with a air intake leak ! An it would have nothing to do with a P0302 . A air leak , vacuum leak would cause a P0300 random misfire . You have a coil or spark plug wire or spark plug breaking down at higher RPM ! A vacuum leak would not affect higher speed . P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected Gross Leak

I trouble with P0106, P0442, P0455


code p 0106 refers to manifold absolute pressure(MAP) sensor / barometric pressure (BARO) sensor---range /performance problem===causes --intake exhaust leak---wiring---MAP sensor---BARO sensor
code p 442 refers to evaporative emission(EVAP) system--small leak detected===causes --hose connections ---intake leak---EVAP cannister purge valve
it also refers to EVAP system ---large leak detected ---cap loose/ off ===causes --mechanical fault , hose connection EVAP pressure sensor
code p 0455 refers to EVAP system --large leak detected ===causes same as for p 0442 causes

When I accelerlate with my AC on the vents cut off and shift to the defrost vents


You probably have a vacuum leak between your intake manifold and along any of the several soft rubber vacuum hoses under dash and under the hood. They may have been pulled loose accidentally or you may have had a naughty little mouse under your hood or even your dash gnawing away on your hoses...they love them for whatever reason. Even a squirrel has been the guilty party under the hood in your engine compartment.

Another possibility is a failure of your A/C, heater control panel in your dash. There are several methods of detecting the leak besides looking closely at every inch of your rubber/plastic hoses (which is the final resort I guess). They make a vacuum leak detector that creates a smoke from baby oil and it lightly pressures up your vacuum hoses from the intake hose connection backwards toward your vacuum system.The smoke should be detectible and reveal your leak. I have the same issue but cannot find the leak.

p0171- system to lean ( bank 1 ). Most likely the cause is a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak can be caused from a vacuum hose, intake gasket or maybe even a leak in the air intake hose from the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor). Listen for a hissing sound that may lead you to the source of the problem. Some technicians will use a propane bottle with a hose attachment to help pinpoint vacuum leaks. have a good day !!
what is happening is the 02 sensor detects that there is to much oxygen in exhaust.

P0442 - Evaporative Emissions System Leak Detected (Small Leak)

P0455 - Evaporative Emissions System Leak Detected (Gross Leak)

This diagnosis detects leaks in the EVAP purge line using engine intake manifold vacuum. If pressure does not increase, the ECM will check for leaks in the line between the fuel tank and EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve under the following vacuum test condition. The vacuum cut valve bypass valve is opened to clear the line between the fuel tank and the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve. The EVAP canister vent control valve will then be closed to shut the EVAP purge line off. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is opened to depressurize the EVAP purge line using intake manifold vacuum. After this depressurization is implemented, the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve will be closed.

Causes:
- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve
- Leak is in line between intake manifold

Solutions:
- Re-tighten or replace fuel tank filler cap
- Replace damaged or leaking EVAP canister
- Replace damaged or leaking lines.

The fuel tank is not vented, but rather the vapors are piped to the carbon cannister (usually located behind the pass. side front wheel) where the charcoal element absorbs the vapor. This is actually a vapor "storage" device. Under certain engine operating conditions, the ECU activates the Cannister Purge Valve (N80) which opens and allows the engine vacuum to **** the fuel vapors back out of the carbon cannister. I have a p0441 fault on my 2003 dodge neon. i changed the canister purge solenoid and the light went off for about a month and just came back on what could cause this?
