I have check the door switches and both seem to work fine when the truck is running. But the light stays on with both doors shut when the key is turned off.
CHECK THE DIMMER SWITCH THAT CONTROLS DASH BRIGHTNESS. THIS OFTEN CONTROLS DOME LIGHT. ALSO MAKE SURE (IF PRESENT) THE MANUAL DOME LIGHT SWITCH IS FUNCTIONING
Testimonial: "Thanks. The dimmer switch did not have any affect on the dome light. The dome light in "on" works as it should. It just gets stuck on when switched to "door" and the key is turned off."

yes there is a relay switch in engine compartment or under dash

The throttle body needs cleaning. It has some carbon build up, and when the battery went dead the computer lost its learned values, one of which is base throttle position. Now its reset back to factory specs, not accounting for a dirty throttle body. Seen it a million times

If I am not mistaken, the plunger is located in the door with the latch. Most of the time you can just pull the door panel off and adjust the switch. After opening and closing the door, they get knocked out of adjustment. I sincerely hope that this helped you. Take care and best wishes.

turn the key on then push in on the plungers, also twist and turn them. with the key off the light is on a timer and will not go off right away. if the key is on the light should go on and off with plunger movment.

The door switch provides a ground to the dome light... so there is no danger to you if you want to attempt a removal of the switch. A rusted or shorted wire in the door switch (of any door) will keep the dome light on.
