I AM AN EX HONDA SERVICE DEALER MANAGER. I DOUBT SERIOUSLY IF CIG LIGHTER WIRING WOULD CAUSE A NO START! DID YOU CHECK MAIN "MAXI FUSE" IN UNDERHOOD FUSE BOX? CHECK THAT FIRST!

That won't typically cause a no-start condition. check fuel pressure, and ignition. If both are present, check for possible valve timing component malfunction, as this is common in belt type driven vehicles like your Honda.

SOURCE: 1991 Accord, stereo stolen, now no heater fan or cig lighter

while snagging your tunes, these guys may have disconnected a ground wire, pull out the heater fuse, check to see if 12v is getting to the fuse at box, if so and the fuse is good,it's a ground or switch issue, they probably have a book on your car at the library with the wiring diagram, they have a copier too

Yes my 2000 grand am started smoking after I used the cigg lighter them started going crazy the next day I looked were my cigg lighter fuse was and it was melted in the fuse box I took my dash apart and...

Yeah, I would say that. Since it melted. Check years, because not all grandams are a like. Year specific. Meaning you can't pull it out of an 2002.(it wont work) only a 2000.

1998 Honda Accord: Radio/Cig lighter keeps blowing 20 amp fuse in the passenger side fuse box. Probably have a ground somewhere, but don't know where to start to look for it. Any ideas? Thank you in...

Start with a visual inspection of the cigarette lighter. The chromed walls are the negative pole, and the bottom part is the positive (12v) pole. Evidently these two parts should not come in contact with each other, and if they do bend the metal with a fine screw driver. Make sure the vehicle is off, and preferably, with the fuse taken out, because the screwdriver will make a short. Also check that nothing metallic has dropped into the hole of the lighter, such as a screw. If nothing is found, take out the lighter socket and disconnect it. Check if the fuse continues to blow, and if this is the case, you know that the lighter is not the culprit. I left the radio as a second choice because reaching the back of the radio to unplug the harness is difficult, it requires disassembling the center console (Check elsewhere on fixya for the procedure, i think i published it once). Unplug the radio and see if this stops the fuse from blowing. If it stops shorting, then you know its the radio, but if it doesnt, then the wiring harness is shorting somewhere, in which case, i would recommend a mechanic, unless you are really good at disassembling dashboards, and checking for continuity and voltage on electrical circuits.

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

Fuses keep blowing on trailer brakes, cig lighter, power port, and there isnt any power to the port for my code reader

have you checked the wiring harnesses for the trailer power port and cigarette lighter? I've seen it where the casing for the wires for the harness have melted for whatever reason and the bare wires come into contact causing the fuse to blow and any fuse that's put in after

Idle wont sit still once the car is warm

is the check engine light on? if so,retrieve the code,to help point you in the right direction.check for vaccum leaks,if no light is on check obd ecm fuse maybe its burnt out ,and the light is on and you dont know it ,90 % of troubleshooting is observation, start the car open the hood and just look and listen, follow your wire harnesses, check all the connectors, listen for air leaks, observe fluid leaks you can also .check at night when is pitch black,to see wiring shorts and bad connections you dont notice in the daytime
