SOURCE: 1996 f150 fuel pump
You may have a break in the wire inside the tank to the fuel pump. I have seen the wires disconnect as the pump is installed.

Your public library will have a manual covering your mechanical repair. Moreover, they have the automotive shops online software called AllData. It is the best auto technician database available today. You can print out specific troubleshooting procedures, diagrams, step-by-step istructions, and soforth. The typical person cannot afford to pay for this service, just automotive dealerships, etc... that is why the public library made it available to everyone and for free to view and print out material. This should Fixya! Good Luck!

Really don't think fuel pressure is the problem. More than likely it is a crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor. If you have any kind of an oil leak in the front main seal it could have dripped down onto the crankshaft position sensor and it is not giving a good reading to the PCM (computer) which in turn will throw this code. I have seen this many times being in the business. Below is a description of your DTC (diagnostic trouble code) right out of ALLDATA. If you need testing procedures for those sensors feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to send you the procedures. I hope this helps and good luck.
