How to pin point a specific electrical disturbance vehicle wiring?

1998 expedition when vehicle is running brake light indicator and abs indicator in dashboard flash.when you apply pressure to the brake pedal both brake light and abs light in dashboard go out but come back on when pressure is taken off brake pedal.in addition to this electrical problem this truck with key to on position and headlight switch off headlights will illuminate but very dim.key ingnition in off position headlamps on only passanger side light will work.also if truck is running and you turn daytime running lights on vehicle stays running switch to full headlight an vehicle will die instantly as if you were to turn the key off .also when vehicle is running and you switch headlamps on vehicle will die but if you quickly switch to day time running lamps or switch the headlamps to off vehicle will regain power and stay running.so excuse me when i say this but wtf is going on with this thing?all grounds are good relays are good fuses are good no bad wires everything else electrical in this vehicle works fine and the starter alternator and battery have been tested and checked good .so again wtf is wrong with this truck?

Sounds like you have an Earth problem, With everything switched off, Check all the Earth connections you can find, (Black Wire), You could use an ohm meter to test for good connections or start at the Battery connections, Black wire from Battery to Engine Block and to the cars Body, Check around under the Hood for any other Black Wires bolted or screwed to the Car Body shell, also check the Black Wires in the Trunk area, from the rear lights, you will also find Earth Wires(Black) under and the Dash Panel, At all the Black connections whether Bolt or Screw, loosen the fixing , squirt a bit of WD40, give the Black wires a good wiggle or if corroded clean up both surfaces before re tightening the fixing, good luck.

It sounds like you fault is with the drivers side headlight or wiring.
have you up rated any of the lamps or done any removel or replacement of parts?. The headlight connection to the lamp may be faulty, even the lamp may be faulty, one of the healight or main beam wires may have been trapped or have been rubbing against the chassis. you have a direct short from the 12v to ground on the main beam and partial leakage on the normal beam. I would use a multi-meter and using the continuity buzzer start at the head light connections and put the meter across the 12v and ground if it buzzes trace the wires back to the relay and unplug the relay and buzz the 12v and ground on the connect going to the light if it doesn't buzz then buzz the 12v and ground going to the relay on the connector, if still buzzing then trace the wiring back to the light switches remove connectors and repeat as above. for best results disconnect the battery before hand. this fault maybe causing your other issues. good luck.

SOURCE: what to look for? why is this electrical system malfuntioning?

Well that kind of sounds like a bad connection, but it was difficult understanding with no good punctuation... Have you checked the battery terminals? If not, do so, and have your alternator checked too. I've seen some really goofy stuff happen when some vehicles don't get enough power.

Trailer electrics problem. 7 pin plug wired correctly I think. Brake and tail lights work as does left indicator. However right indicator doesn't work but tight brake light flashes instead!

Does the vehicle have electric trailer braking ability? IF it does then you may have tapped that instead of the brake lights. If it does not we need the make model and year of the vehicle.

How to find an electrical disturbance in 1998 ford expedition

Normally this condition is the result of a poor body ground connection. Testing for this can be deceiving. At the static(nothing on) condition, testing can show a good ground. However when a circuit is excited, it has a determined resistance and a set current flow. If the ground connection to this or a branch circuit is loose, corroded, or broken wire. This will allow just enough connection to show as being good, but not good enough to complete the circuit with the required amount of connection when energized.

How to pinpoint and fix electrical disturbance in 1998 expedition?

Could be the ignition switch itself. Under the hood where all the wires go into the fusebox in the cab is a good pkace to start. You need to take the bolt/nut off and pull the box and wires apart. I have seen fuse blocks heavily corroded and cause problems as you are haveing. Also could be the ecm (aka)computer in your car is going bad. You can get a remanufactured one cheap. And it is simple and strait forward

1998 expedition yesturday was low on fuel got gas drove with headlights on got 4 miles down road vehicle died thought was bad gas 3hrs later vehicle would run but abs light and brake light would flash

There is a problem in the electrics of the vehicle. First place to start is to check the alternator drive belt for condition and tension. Next place is the battery terminals and condition and tension . Third place is to have a load test done on the battery as it may have an internal short and drawing all the current from the alternator. In effect when you add power requirements ( park lights then brake lights then headlights) you are actually using more current than the alternator can supply to keep the engine system running.

I replaced the caliber guide pins on a 2009 toyota corolla and now ABS light stays on.

hi.... you may have disturbed the wiring that goes to the abs sensor
on the back of your brake plate. there is one on each wheel. and the cable goes from the sensor into your boot to a connector you may have disturbed this. its behind the panels on the wheel arch. good luck.

Air bag and abs lights staying on

If the Airbag light is on, it indicates that a electronic fault is stored in the memory for the airbag. You will need to have a diagnostic check done to pinpoint what the fault is, have it sorted out and only then can the fault be cleared so the light will go off. The ABS light also indicates a fault on the electronic side of the braking system. If the light comes on as you start the vehicle this indicates that there is an open circuit in the wiring or that the ABS control unit itself is faulty. If the light only comes on once the vehicle is in motion, this indicates that a wheel speed sender is incorrectly fitted or dirty and not sensing the ABS Rotor on one of the wheels. If a CV joint has been replaced, the joint may not have an ABS ring fitted on it.[front] At the rear the ABS pick up is fitted on the inside of the brake discs and must be fitted to the new disc when replacing discs.

ABS brake module sounds like a motor running and won't stop unless battery is disconnected. what is fix?

I would pull the fuse for the ABS hydraulic pump and then put it back in and see what happens. Don't ever recall a pump running. Dealer may need to hook up scan tool for diagnostic fault codes, DTCs.

Principles of Operation
The ABS control module receives wheel speed readings from both front wheel speed sensors and the rear differential speed sensor, and processes this information to determine if an ABS event is necessary. The wheel speed sensor electrically senses each tooth of the ABS sensor indicators as it passes through the wheel speed sensor's magnetic field.
The ABS control module continuously monitors and compares the rotational speed of each wheel speed sensor indicator and, when it detects an impending wheel lock, modulates brake pressure to the appropriate brake caliper(s). This is accomplished by triggering the hydraulic control unit (HCU) to open and close the appropriate solenoid valves. Once the affected wheel returns to normal speed, the ABS control module returns the solenoid valves to their normal position, and normal (base) braking resumes.
The ABS control module is self-monitoring. When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, the ABS control module will do a preliminary electrical check, and at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph), the pump motor is turned on for approximately one-half second. Any malfunction of the ABS system will cause the ABS to shut off; normal power assisted braking, however, remains.
Inspection and Verification — Scan Tool Communications Check
  1. Verify the customer concern by carrying out the Drive Cycle Test.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
