Switch car off. Then turn ignition twice. Press the reset button three times fast. You will see onboard computer allowing access to more than usual functions. Scroll to where speedo cruze is and manually switch to the "off" mode.

I hope this helps. Please let me know.

It should have an on/SET button so just turn it OFF You may also find an ON/OFF button on the dash depending on the model you have.

How do I engage cruise control on unidentified vehicle?

Hi Ted:
If you can't identify the vehicle, all I can do is suggest that you use "trial and error" as the preferred method.
Start with the engine off and look at all of the controls.
When you find the cruise control, look carefully at all of the components. There should be:
- ON/OFF
- Set
- Cancel
- Coast
- Resume
Or any of a bunch of different terms that relate to functions.
Once you find the specific controls, and identify the functions, engaging it is usually just a matter of pressing the ON control. and then the SET when the desired speed has been reached.

My cruise control work part time .what is its problem

Most cruise controls I've seen have a minimum speed that they will work. My car has a minimum of 30mph. Under this the cruise control is not functional. Cruise control is cancelled when the brake pedal is touched.

My cruise control just stopped working. Is there a faulty fuse, relay, switch I could check myself...?

In that vehicle, the usual culprit is a leaking vacuum line. Also, check the operation of the brake pedal cancel switch by pulling upward on the brake pedal with the toe of your shoe while attempting to engage the cruise control. If the cruise control engages, adjust the cancel switch.

What is the function of the cruise control, and when should i use it.

the cruise control is for expressway or throughway driving or any open highway ,it cuts down on fuel by not useing so much gas. it stays at a constant speed it depends where it is set too. after cruise control is set, you can cancel it anytime by turning it off or putting on the brakes. most cruise controls will not set below 40 mph. this is a feature to keep from using it in the city, or populated area. hope this helps you ! good-day !

My cruise control will suddenly stop working and the cruise light

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the brake fluid level. This may be an answer. Also have you had the brakes checked. The cruise control is integrated with the brakes. Any little thing wrong with them effects the cruise.

Cruise control how to use

Most cruise controls are designed to disengage when you press the brake pedal. I always mention this first because people tend to try to press the clutch pedal while the cruise control is engaged and this startles them when the engine revs up all the way...

Anyway, to use your cruise control:

1) Press the Cruise control button to on.
2) Drive up to the speed you need to go.
3) Press the "Set/Coast" button.
4) let go of the accelerator pedal

If the cruise control system is operating correctly, your vehicle will continue to travel at the same speed until you either press the brake pedal or you cancel the cruise setting with the cancel button of the cruise control.

Remember: Your civic is not equiped with a radar system for your cruise control, so if you are aproaching an intersection or traffic in front of you, do not expect the car to know it needs to stop. Also, cruise control only operates the accelerator pedal i your car, it is not autopilot, so it will not steer your car for you.

(you think it sounds silly that I am writing this? You should see my friend's car... He thought Cruise control was like autopilot, so he smashed his brand new civic into a tree...)

Happy Motoring!

Cruise control quit working. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check. None of the fuse box locations have a cruise control label

Bad relay. They are to the right of the fuses (fuses inside the car). You can see the relays if you open the cover to the fuses (they are big blue cubes), but will need to remove a few screws to remove the panel to get to them. I can't remember which one it is, it might make a clicking noise when you try and turn on the cruise. Or you can swap "matching relays - compare diagram on top" and see what else stop working. I had to replace several, my dash when out, my cruise, and I think one is the fan that blows your ac and heat.
