Question about Cars & Trucks

Car Does not run on all cylinders anymore

The Car was was running fine the night before, but did not start right in the morning and was not running on all cylinders anymore. After some tips i changed the fuel pump and fuel filter which was not the reason why it didn't run, because the old pump was still good. the car still didn't run, so i changed the spark plugs, Spark Cable and distributor cap and checked if the distributor rotor still works which was ok, but the car still does not run on all cylinders and will shut down imediately if i don't stay on the gas. any advice?

Did you do anything with the injectors? Like clean them or have a mechanic do a full-blown injector cleaner? What codes appear, if any? Need more intel, please.

It has around 160000 miles on it. No nothing has been done with the injectors. And I tried to read out the car but it has been given an error and didn't show why the engine check light was on. After I changed the last plug, the engine check light went off and is not lighting up
anymore. The old plugs where very black and had lots of burnt stuff on it so I was thinking Maby it gets too much gas.

SOURCE: hesitation, stalling like out of gas

Clogged Catalytic Converter. What happens is as you push down harder on the accelerator you force more gas into the system causing a slightly richer mixture and more exhaust flow is neccessary. The easiest way to look for a clogged cat is when it's dark out take it for a ride causing it perform it's problem look under the vehicle if the cat is literally glowing red hot you either have a clogged cat or an extremely rich fuel mixture.

It may be the O2 sensor. I know it's not the fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, Vehicle Speed Sensor, Dis. cap, or TCM.

I doubt it.
If the engine is cranking, the starter is working.
If the engine will not start, you need to know if you have spark at the plugs, fuel pressure at the injectors, and normal compression.

Motor turns over normally when i turn the key but will not catch and run

When this happens have a can of spray starting fluid on hand, spray it into the engine air intake, if the engine starts you may have a failing electric fuel pump

Why does my 99 626 keep fouling plugs?

Wish you had a video of it running. It might be the fuel mix is too rich! A car that old should need TLC! It could be a # of things just getting old!

Car won't stay running after sits overnight and runs good after you do get it started

In the morning, turn key to on position for 5 seconds. Do not crank. Then turn off for 5 seconds. Repeat this about 5 times. Then try to start. If engine starts right up, the fuel pump check valve is bad. Meaning all fuel in fuel line is returning to the tank when car sits overnight. The only fix is to replace fuel pump. If that doesn't work, replace coolant temp. sensor for the computer. About a 12.00 part.

make sure the gas cap is on tight. vapor recovery system depends on the closure of the gas cap. if that did not solve your problem, I would suggest to get a new gas cap first, before going to the dealer or any repair shop for a turn-up.
