This is a obd 1 system, you need a scan tool that is obd1 compatable, but having the blink code is just as good. The diagnosis for this is fairly complex and can't really be conveyed in a text. In general however, if you have other active codes (53 or 62) fix them first. It also may have been self induced. If it is the only code clear it and confirm that it comes back on is own. Also, check for a poor ecm ground...not sure where it is on this car...very commonly found at the thermostat housing stud.

Why won 't computer communicate with code checker

Check the cigarette lighter fuse. This is what powers the DLC. If the fuse is good, check and see if the lighter works. If not, you have a bad wire. Code readers have to have power from the car. Most scanners have there own power and will read the computer, unless the data wire is bad or the computer is bad.

no your timming belt broke!!! now if you have a interference engine you will need a new car!!!
the only way to know is if you search your year make and engine size of your car..
you better hope its a non interference engine .. than just change the belt.. good luck. this is a basic timming belt photo . engine-start-distributor-turn-rbr12kxjqsqvwnu2khrshnjz-4-0.jpg

We just over hauled my 1997 Nissan pickup 4wd. It won't start and run on it's own? What diagnostic tool do I need to tell me the problem?

All 1996 North American vehicles (U.S.) and later are required to be compatible with an OBD-II scanner that you can purchase for about $100. Various brands are available. However, if it won't actually start, and run on its own, there may not be any codes stored in the computer that will be of use.

Hi, I have a Jaguar x-type 2.0 v6 2002, and i stalled it and quickly turned the engine back on, then the malfunction indicator lamp came on and won't go off. The car runs perfectly but this light...

The light coming on is an indication of a malfunction in the engine management system.
The cars computer has now stored a malfunction code, turning on the light. A parts store as Auto Zone or a Jag dealer can scan the computer with a "code scanner". Many parts stores will do this for free.
The code scanner will give the reason why the light went on. This aids the mechanic of your choice in the repair.
You need to find a place to scan the computer. Although the car runs good the light is a warning that something is amiss.

Need code for radio for lenos daewoo 2000 mdl

You can't reset it yourself. It takes a scanner at your Local Dealership to do it. People do it, (new battery) everyday unaware that doing so can and usually does, arm the theft system and either kills the radio or the whole car. To me it's just another built-in defect that requires dealer assistance. It's a buzzkill I know, and it probably won't be long until car owners won't even have access to the engine compartment. They will need your VIN, and then they call HQ to get the code for your radio.

Engine runs 1200 2000 rpms.rebuilt whole motor and still had same problem. so replaced tps and idle control also thermastat and temp sensor i get no reading on the obd connector it won't register i...

check the computer powers and grounds and obd connector and engine grounds,if these are good its possible that the computer may need replacing as 3 scanners won`t read data and the obd connector is fed directly from the computer.
