Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Is there a way of removing the light behind the traction control button of Masda TS2. Car is working fine and only paid £2000 for car so £1700 to fix problem is uneconomical.

Nothing except garage said code was 1288 (pressure transducer main/primary input circuit failure)

Yes theres a way, "i think your annoyed with the light flashing" , you can either pull the button switch and at the back of it cut the wire, and retape the exposed wire using electrical tape, and your done.

The traction control and transmission shifting would involve the body computer more so than the engine computer.
Have you had the body computer scanned for trouble codes ?

Why would the traction control warning light come on and lock the car in park; could it be the brakes need to be done

Have to have the car checked for codes & diagnosed,
like every problem you ever had, with any vehicle

Same procedure every time-- all problems

Check battery
Check for codes
Check factory trouble charts, bulletins, google, you tube, gather the
required info to learn the system your having issues with
Do the required testing to find a problem

You know how long it has been & should know in detail
what was done, what you paid for & should have been shown
up close that work in the past & have a log book on your brake
work

So NO --doubt unless you neglect to do anything but drive a vehicle, that brake work is needed

The problems is in the ABS Braking System, the Trac Control
tells you that

If the brakes do not come apart once a year, then you need to do
some cleaning & lube there also

2003 lincoln ls traction control always on

Have the ABS Braking System tested

You most likely have a Bad Wheel Speed Sensor

The Control Switch on console does absolutely nothing,I know
I have a 2004 LS

You can not disconnect a thing
I have the factory wiring diagrams &
the answer is no

You have dash lights on-- why have you not checked for
codes & resolved the problem, same procedure when
ever any dash light stays on after motor is running

An dash light on you have an OBD2 system failure

ABS/ Traction control light/BAS & brake light on in 2008 dodge grand caravan

It is safe to drive. You need a scan tool to get a code out of it. Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor going bad. All of these lights will work together normally. The traction control uses the ABS to gain traction, and the Brake Assist System is part of the stability control. Also uses the ABS.

I am running a mazda 6 TS2 2004 model. 2 amber lights came on my dashboard this morning. One of a car skidding and the other of an engine.

these are traction control and service engine. first look for a button or switch for the traction then have an obd2 scan done. you can scan it first this may tell you about the traction. your local auto zone or advance auto does this service for free if you don't have access yourself.

How to tell if the vehicle has traction control?

Hello. Welcome to FixYa.

If your vehicle has traction control, there will be a light on the dash. Turn the key to the on position (don't start the car), and observe the dash. If you see a little car with some lines behind it (the lines look like an "S"), you have traction control.

No little car with a squiggly S behind it; no traction control.

This light will come on everytime you loose traction. The computer on the car puts stopping pressure on the tire that is slipping until the slipping is stopped and the correction made.
