Check the connection on the temperature sending unit/sensor on the engine. If it's disconnected the computer won't put it in cold start mode. If it's carbureted instead of EFI then the choke is not coming on. It's an electric actuated choke and the wire could have come off the blade/pin while driving the day before.

Testimonial: "Thanks, not really sure what happen, after 2 days of sitting, it cranked up with just a little shakes, after it warmed up, the shaking stopped. Turn off, waited a min. Cranked back up, just fine. No shaking."

  • Rigger Nov 25, 2014

Yeah, that shaking you speak of has to do with fuel delivery. When cold and it's in cold start mode, there's extra raw fuel being dumped into the engine and it's just not burning quick enough and burning off. That doesn't hurt anything but you may want to do a tune up on it. After it's warmed and off cold start, it's not gonna shake anyway.A lot of EFI vehicles will do that shake. My '86 Blazer does it when first started and cold. It clears out, no problem.

  • Rigger Nov 25, 2014

Oh, a tune up was done on the Blazer, new wires and plugs, but it still shakes on cold start.

SOURCE: Change Fuel Pump on 1999 Chev Silverado v8 2 wd automatic 2 door

well the pump is in the fuel tank and it depends if the tank is full or not if it is its very heavy and you will need a jack and 1 other person to help you there are two fuel lines to unhook and the electrical connector. When replacing it replace the entire fuel pump/sending unit and the electrical harness or you will end up having more problems also spend the extra 15$ and replace the fuel filter

SOURCE: 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4.3 eng

Chevy Trucks, Blazers, S10 pickup and the like will vapor lock ecspecially the 2000 models. Do not tighten the gas cap past 1 click. There is a tube that runs from the top of the tank down and this gets hot and collapses or burns in half. We just bought a reinforced rubber tube cut it to lengh and use it instead of part and it's worked grat for 2 years so far.

SOURCE: 2003 chevrolet silverado v8 1500 with code 430

P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

Basically this means that the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter on bank 2 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system.

Symptoms: You will likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a rough/hard idle when cold.

Causes: A code P0430 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

* The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
* An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
* There is an exhaust leak

Possible Solutions: First, inspect for exhaust leaks.

Next step is to measure the voltage at the oxygen sensor on Bank 2. In fact, it would be a good idea to test each oxygen O2 sensor while you're at it.

One thing to note is that many vehicle manufacturers offer a longer warranty on emissions-related parts. So if you have a newer car but it's out of it's bumper-to-bumper warranty, there still may be warranty on this type of problem. Many manufacturers give a five year, unlimited mileage warranty on these items. It's worth checking into.

Hope helps (remember to rate this answer).

I have a 95 honda civic ex,wont start.ran fine yesterday,wont start this morning.battery is fully charged,new cap and rotor.would do u think might b my problem

if it wont turn over 1st check the ground s on the car and the battery 1st. your battery can be fully charged and the car will not start even over night this can happen. then look at the starter. Note: if you have over 109K on the car and the timing belt has never been replaced you will need to have this checked as well.

Read the codes off of the computer using an OBD-II Scanner to get a clue as to what is wrong. The codes from when it was sputtering will likely be stored in the computer.

Good luck.

Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

Your 20 amp fuse will not blow if glowplug wire shorts. each plug draws 15 amps which is 120 amps total.I think there are in line fuses for them. Try to wring out where each output from the fuse goes, disconnect all and reconnect one at a time till it blows. That should point to your problem process of illumination! Good Luck!!

Sounds like you need to get the Starter Solinoid Replaced. Just for Kicks make sure that you check EVERY Fuse and Relay in Both the Fuse Panel inside the Cab and the One Under the Hood.
