Chances are that a heat shield located under your exhaust or the catalytic converter has broke loose and rattles when you are idling in drive. This is common on older cars and is only usually noticed while idling in drive because the engine is working under a slight load and runs a little rougher. A good exhaust shop could probably fix it for very little.

I had the same problem on my 2006 Lucerne and it was the engine mount located on the front of the vehicle behind the radiator.

open the hood have someone u trust sit in the car and put it in drive holding the break with it in gear tap the throttle quick if the engine looks like it wants to jump out its a mount issue granted it will move about 3-4 inches if there ok anything more you have a problem try it in both (D) and (R)

chesk the battery terminals and wires for corrosion. if they can be cleaned do that. if they are really bad just replace them. i had the same problem with my 95 sl2 and this fixed it right up.
Airbox is not latched down properly. I had the exact same problem. I found the front of the airbox was clipped down but the back was bouncing up and down and making a racket at low idle. There are 2 clips on the front of the airbox and none on back. You have to put the rear of airbox down first and insert rear into the plastic slots to hold it. Then you put the front down and clip it down.
