Well first off I would check all fuses. Second task would be to trace the wires to each end to find out if the wire completely burned out.

What wire(s) grounded out? What year/make/model?

A couple wires under the fusebox in the engine compartment. It's a 1999 Range Rover 4.6 L, HSE

Well the problem with that is, a lot of wires underneath the fusebox could lead to the ECU, meaning it could have sustained unhandled voltage. Have you or someone tried scanning the car for codes? That would be my next step if you have already repaired any burnt/broken wires, and checked all fuses.

I have been checking and I strongly believe that a wire is burnt but just can't find it. I put a live/ignition wire to the power pack (coil)and it kicks over like a baby but don't want to leave it that way and cause other damages. Must say thanks to all who responded via this medium - you all have been very helpful.

P1672 & P1667 are two codes that come up on the scanner.

Yeah sounds like your anti-theft kicked in. Those are both anti theft codes for the range rover. That must have happened during the wire shortage I guess? Not really sure... anti-theft is out of my jurisdiction; I don't know if I can help! However my research shows that the ci

Sorry that got cutoff.... I was saying that I seen other posts that show anti theft, as well as the circuits in the fusebox get corroded and overheat. Seems like it could be a common thing. You could try replacing the fusebox and have your anti-theft looked at. I know nothing of anti-theft so I can't really help there.

I would find the ground wire from battery to body. even if it looks good on the outside take it off and shiny clean wire connect and body connect with sandpaper. there are several other ground wires under the hood you should do the same.(go to youtube and type in "ground wires/your year, make and model") good luck.

you can put a ground wire anywhere it is easiest.the ground wire that is hooked to the frame would go to the engine block or the body. if there is an easier place to run a ground wire, then go to the parts store and purchase a ground wire and run it to an alternator bracket,or any bolt that is easy to remove. it would be good to also run a ground to the body also.. your origional ground wire may have had a clip tat just pushed onto a body seam.

Soon as I start car sometimes all lights flicker and sometimes while Im driving lights flicker and car shuts off starts back up car is 99 buick lesabre

Check all your ground wires. There will be several wires connecting
ultimately to the negative side of the battery. Usually at least 2
wires are connecting the body of the vehicle to the negative side
of the battery. Generally, the lights are grounded to the body which
is grounded either to the engine block or directly to the battery.

Where is the ground wire located for a 1989 chev.s-10 windsheld wiper motor?

General comment: Most automotive wiring uses the body for the ground wire. Where is the ground? ... In the bolt or screw that fastens the motor to the car body. If the motor is mounted on rubber, as in isolated from the body, ... there should be a ground ... make one ... it can be attached from a good solid body connection to any part of the metal body of the motor. Get a wire and a screw, drill a hole in the body, wrap the sire around it securely ... fasten it to any part of the WSW motor.

I turn the ignition switchand the fuel pumps do not pump up. i checked the ems, relays, enertia switch, fuses. and fuseable links. i can ground pumps at terminal and the pumps will work. there is spark....

Pour some gas down the intake manifold and see if it starts to verify this problem. If it starts you may have a bad fuel pump or possibly a bad ground for the body check all your body grounds. But if you're able to ground out the fuel pump and you hear it run you may have a clogged fuel filter. If you can keep the fuel pump running see if it will start if it starts you may have a wiring problem. Remember that computer controls both the positive in the ground going to the fuel pump. Good luck.
