Can you remove the dipstick tube? This may be the easier way to go. If not you may have to remove the pan. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

SOURCE: oil dip stick

Had the same problem last year - the plastic handle broke off and the top of the remaining plastic was visible down the tube but was stuck solid. Finally used an easy-out to get it out. Drilled a small hole into the plastic and then threaded a thin easy-out bit into the hole and it held enough for me to pull the dipstick out. Stupid design, a plastic handle on a metal dipstick!

Here in Canada the Intrepid is badged as a Chrysler. Sounds a bit dodgey to me :-)

I have a 2008 suzuki swift 1328cc and the dipstick broke at the top leaving the remainder of the dipstick in the tube, how do i get it out and 2 is the car safe to drive. Many thanks

BTW we dont have this car sold here. USA>
yes that is a fun one, Suzuki sells it, and nobody else.
(off wrecked car sure;called wrecking yards.)
well if the pan is full to spec level its ok.
if the top of the dip tube does not leak oil, it's ok
but if the dip tube sucks AIR, like that, as all do(PCV features), the that be cause of bad idle, speeds , but depends on engine there the G13 what, G13 A, B ,AB, BB, BA>??
there like 5 G13 and 3 major EFI there.
remove the tube, it has but one 6mm bolt. and and 0-ring.
then take out the stick.
then put it back the tube. empty.
then cork it off and drive to suzuki and buy a new stick.
what country are you in, we are USA, and where you are , is where parts are, so,, i cant help you lacking COUNTRY ! can I.

01 Lincoln nativagator oil tube dipstick broke off an don't know where to find the other part that's still on the engine an what I need to get it replaced an how soon?

The part that broke off might be long enough to still be in the tube and you can get it out by removing the tube out of the block should be just pressed in and can be pulled out, check to see if it has a bolt holding it. If the part that broke off is short and fell into the oil pan don't worry about it just put in a new dipstick

My oil dipstick broke off. Can you tell me the easiest way to retrieve the stick to replace with new

Many dipstick holders are bolted to the engine...removing this bolt and the dipstick tube should also retrieve the dipstick...you may need a new tube, as well as dipstick...Hope this helps.

Explorer Dipstick Tube Broke

There is a bracket that holds the tube to the block. There is no clips or retainers that hold it in the block. With the bracket loose you can twist and remove from the block. There is a oil ring on the end of the tube.
Sometimes the old tube is hard to remove...due to rust and corrosion. Spray the tube with a good penetrating oil before you start. Try to wiggle and twist the tube to brake it free....be careful, the tube is thin. If the tube breaks off flush with the block..the piece that in the block will need to get extracted out or remove the oil pan and remove it that way.

My engine oil dipstick missing

As far as I know this van never had a dipstick, did you break this off or are you just assuming that it is broken because the fill tube is there but no dipstick? If it is broken off then you will need to remove the pan off the bottom of the transmission to get it out

While changing the transmission pan gasket and filter i noticed a piece of plastic in the pan. it is about 2 inches long and looks like a mushroom with an o-ring on the head of it. i cant figure out where...

Hi, welcome to FixYa.com my name is Shawn and I will be answering your question.

That yellow plug is from the factory. They use that to plug the dipstick tube hole before they install the dipstick tube to keep the fluid from running out. Just throw out the yellow plastic piece. When they install the dipstick tube it pushes the piece into the trans pan where it stays until you change the fluid and throw it out.

I hope my assistance helped you and resolved your concern, if you need further assistance please ask.

When the dipstick was removed, the top of the tube to the engine broke off. How to repair please? Thank you

Plastic dip stick funnels are always snapping off.

Remove what you can see down to metal tube. With small hook on end of stiff wire, pull out inner plastic sleeve from tube.

If it won't come out...push it down so new funnel can be installed.

It can't hurt as the tube ends one eighth of an inch from the oil pan floor.

FYI. You need to cover top of new dip stick funnel with cloth and push home until you hear it click onto tube.

Dip stick broke and cant get it out whats the beast way to get it out

Hi:
Depending where the dipstick broke off, you possibly can unbolt the dipstick tube from the engine, and hopefully the remnant of the dipstick is sticking out part way. If not , then you have no choice but to loosen your entire oil pan on the bottom of the engine.

Dip stick for the oil broke off and is stuck inside

SOMETIMES A SMALL POWERFUL MAGNET CAN BE USED TO EXTRACT THE STICK BUT REMOVAL OF THE OIL PAN IS ONE METHOD THAT ASSURES ALL REMNANTS OF THE DIPSTICK ARE REMOVED FROM THE OIL PAN. TRY FISHING THROUGH THE TUBE BEFORE RESORTING TO PULLING THE PAN. YOUR IMAGINATION IS A POWERFUL TOOL. BEST OF LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR USING FIX-YA.
