See question above. I just bought this car.

Very simple... Remove the fuse that powers the chime

Most often that fuse will also be used injunction with another object that requires power. Personally, I would not recommend this method.

There are a few things you can do...
1: If you bought the car from a dealership, take it back. Make them fix it.
2: There is a(should be) a wire going into the receiver for the seatbelt. Ensure it is plugged in. If it is... you can remove the wire and ground it out(ie: loosen the bolt to the bottom of the seat, place wire under bolt. Ensure there will be wire to metal contact. Then, tighten the bolt.)

SOURCE: seat belt chimes intermittently even after buckling up

Maybe a bad switch or something in the belt latch,
I unplugged mine at the floor where the right belt anchors,
Now it's quiet,I still know if the belt is on or not by the way it feels !!

There is a problem with the buckle sensor, it a really just a ground, circuit, try cleaning the buckle and belt end with spray brake clean, do not get it on the fabric of belt or seat covers.

disconnect that sucker from under the seat. Look under the seat ( move it all the way forward it will easier) find the seat belt buckle there will be a wire coming off it. follow the wire to the connection then disconnect it. no more chime. or light on the dash either

I have a 2008 Ford Fusion and the seat belt chime goes off all the time even if the seat belt is worn. How do I fix that?

This veh has an airbag system and that lamp system is part of it. It is not recommended for one without the proper training to attempt to diagnose or repair due to the danger of setting off the airbags.
It needs to be scanned by a shop that has a scanner that is capable of scanning the RCM (Airbag System)system.

Chances are the seat belt buckle switch is bad or switch is unhooked. that would require replacement or re-connection.
if you try and look at it for connection be sure and unhook the neg battery cable and wait about 15-20 min for the back reserves to deplete in the RCM.

Here is a wiring diagram of the seat switch. Drivers and passenger side.

The driver side seat belt buzzer keeps ringing even with the belt buckled

Find and disconnect the seat belt buckle connector. short the two wires together on the harness side with a paper clip. If the chime/buzzer quits, the problem is in the buckle assembly. If the chime/buzzer is still going off, the problem is some where in the wiring or module.

My safety belt warning light and chime keeps coming on even though we are all buckled.

there is a plug in on the bottom of the seat belt buckle check and make sure these are plugged up also try spraying a cleaner down in the buckle to clean the contacts preferably something that dries fast like electronics cleaner.
