Watch You Tube Video

You will need Metric Hex Drivers to get Calipers off

Front & back are different size

Do you have any brake service experience or vehicle
experience,if you have to ask,may not be up to knowing
what needs to be done

You don't just hang pads, there is a lot of work there, removing
rust & having the rotors machined & special lube in various
places

Have to bleed the system every 2 years or your in for big problems

Have to replace trans & power steering fluids every 3 years or
those systems fail

http://www.genuineservice.com/genuineservice/en/default?page=genuineService

Go to this website and pick owner guide on left task bar. Input vehicle info then get the owners manual.Your fuse panel info starts on page 120.

To replace lighter just reach around behind it and unhook connectors. The stick something in the socket(I usually use 2 fingers) and twist it counter clockwise. the center will screw out of the sleeve.

Replacing thermostat on 2006 mercury mountaineer 4.6

Go to youtube.com to see a video of this. Usually a simple job, but make sure you get the thermostat in right with the copper pellet side toward the engine.
Main problem people have in general is they let the thermostat slip down out of place and tighten it up, breaking the thermostat housing.
Do the job cold, a hot engine only lends to making mistakes. don-ohio (:^)

What do I have to do to replace disc break drums

to start with there are no disc brake drums. There are disc rotors and brake drums and the two are as chalk and cheese. Most disc rotors just require the removal of the wheel and ( some have retaining screws for the wheel hub) pull the rotor off the hub. Off course you will have to remove the callipers before removing the disc
Brake drums on the other hand will require the removal of the wheel and loosing off of the brake adjustment. Some again have retaining screws /bolts and may require hitting the axle flange section of the drum to allow the drum to come off the axle studs. require . I strongly recommend that you get a workshop manual relevant for your vehicle before you think about doing it yourself.
